Join in minutes
Apply online with a valid driver's license. Most people are approved instantly and can book a trip within minutes.
Drive on demand
Book a round trip car by the hour or day. Use our app to unlock and lock during your trip. We'll also send you a Zipcard.
Return
When you're done, park the car in the same location you picked it up from, then end the trip with the app.
How do I join Zipcar?
Apply online. Once approved, get your Zipcard by mail in 3-7 days. That’s your key to access cars in our network. Once you activate your Zipcard, you can begin booking Zipcars.
How much does Zipcar cost?
Zipcar membership costs $9 a month or $90 a year. Reserve cars by the hour or by the day. Gas, insurance, and 200 km per day are all included in membership. Price it out.
How soon can I drive with Zipcar?
First, sign up for membership. Once approved, get your Zipcard by mail in 3-7 days. Activate your Zipcard, and then you can book reservations.

What types of cars can I drive?
When booking a reservation, you can choose a car type to fit your needs or your mood—from compact sedans to larger cars or SUVs and even luxury vehicles, we’ve got you covered.
How many miles are included?
No matter where or how long you drive, 200 km are included per day for most membership plans. Any overage is billed at $.50 per km. Learn more.
Is gas included?
Gas is on us! Need to fill up during your reservation? Just use the gas card found behind the driver’s side visor in your Zipcar. Every car should have at least ¼ tank to start (so kindly bring yours back that way, too.)
How does Zipcar insurance coverage work?
All members in good standing have third party auto liability and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) or "no-fault" coverage. A $1,000 damage fee may apply which you can reduce or eliminate by buying an optional waiver. More details.
