What Are Car Clubs?

 

Car clubs are short-term car rental services that give members access to cars parked in convenient roadside locations that can be rented by the minute, hour or day. Car clubs offer consumers and businesses access to vehicles so they only pay for the time they need the vehicle as an alternative to owning a vehicle.

Car clubs play a big role in reducing the need for private parking and research from Como UK suggests that each Car Club vehicle helps to remove 21 privately owned cars from London's roads.

Is fuel included?

It sure is. Just use the fuel card on the side of the dashboard when you need to fill up. Every car should have at least ¼ tank to start with (please bring yours back that way, too.) Our e-Golfs are charged overnight, so they’re good to go whenever you are.

How many miles are included?

60 miles each day – no matter where you drive. Extra miles cost £0.29 per mile. Learn more. We also cover your fuel, insurance, maintenance and all our vehicles are ULEZ compliant – so everything’s taken care of. 

How does Zipcar insurance coverage work?

All Zipcar members in good standing have third-party auto liability. Members are responsible for a £750 damage fee (£1,000 for higher-risk members) per incident, which can be reduced or eliminated with an optional damage fee waiver. Learn more.

What if I already own a car?

Lots of Zipcar members also own their own vehicles and use Zipcar. We have a fleet of cars and vans to help do whatever you need. Whether that's day trips, weekends away, moving house the opportunities are endless. What Zipcar offers gives members the flexibility to use a car should they need an extra pair of wheels. We’re such big fans of car sharing we’ve even done some research that shows it’s cheaper to use Zipcar than own a car!

How many cars are there?

Zipcar has thousands of cars and vans available with the majority of them in London. Enterprise Car Club have 1,400 spread across the UK . The availability of peer to peer vehicles is much less reliable with availability dependent on the owner listing their car at any one time.

How do I find the cars?

You will probably have noticed a few of the bays and vehicles when you’re out and about, but the best way of finding the vehicles is all via an app. That way you can use your location to find the vehicles closest to you. Check out the Zipcar app to see cars near you.
