Triumph Scrambler 400 X

Triumph Motorcycles has extended its discount offer of Rs 10,000 on the Triumph Scrambler 400 X.

The Triumph Scrambler 400 X is the most affordable scrambler from Triumph. It is based on the same platform as the Speed 400 and is powered by the same 398.15cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine.

Price: The Triumph Scrambler 400 X is priced at Rs 2,54,495 (ex-showroom).

Features: The Triumph Scrambler 400 X comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster. It shows useful data like remaining range, gear position, speed, and fuel level, apart from other tell-tale lights. Triumph has equipped the Scrambler with all-LED lighting, switchable traction control, and a Bosch dual-channel ABS that’s exclusively switchable on the Scrambler 400 X. It also gets an engine immobiliser and a USB-C port as standard. Triumph offers a range of luggage options, windshields and other accessories, all with a two-year warranty.

Engine: Powering the Scrambler 400 X is an all-new 398.15cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, producing 40PS at 8000rpm and 37.5Nm at 6500rpm and comes paired with a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch. The service interval stands at 16,000km.

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The bike is built on a hybrid spine/perimeter tubular steel frame with a bolt-on rear subframe. The bike employs a 43mm inverted Big Piston Fork offering 150mm wheel travel, and a preload-adjustable gas-charged monoshock with a remote reservoir, also with 150mm wheel travel. The motorcycle rolls on a 19-inch front and a smaller 17-inch aluminium alloy wheel at the rear, both shod with MRF Zapper Kurve block-pattern tyres. The Scrambler 400X comes to a halt using a 300mm disc up front (with a radial calliper) and a 230mm disc at the rear, both by ByBre. While the 13-litre fuel tank remains the same as the Speed 400, it gets a taller 835mm seat. It also weighs 9kg more than the Speed 400, at 179kg kerb.

Rivals: Other closest scrambler-style alternatives to the Triumph Scrambler 400X include the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, Yezdi Scrambler and Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450.

Variants: Triumph offers the Scrambler 400X in only one variant but in Matt Khaki Green and Fusion White, Carnival Red and Phantom Black, and Phantom Black and Silver Ice dual-tone colour schemes.
