The Tata Tiago EV has been updated with new features, while keeping the price same for the entry-level EV hatchback which starts at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).The new features include auto-dimming IRVM and 45 W Type-C USB charging port. The added features are present on the top-end XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux trims of the Tiago EV.
Tata Tiago EV Key Highlights
Features: The Tiago EV’s feature list includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay/Android Auto, automatic climate control,auto-dimming IRVM, 45 W Type-C USB charging port. a cooled glovebox, and an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. It also gets cruise control, and connected car technology. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Motor: The Tiago EV is offered with two battery pack choices: a 19.2kWh unit paired with an electric motor putting out 61PS/110Nm and a 24kWh unit paired with an electric motor delivering 75PS/114Nm. The former provides a claimed range of 315km, while the latter offers a claimed range of 250km. A 7.2kW charger can recharge the batteries in 3 hours 36 minutes, while it takes 8 hours 45 minutes to recharge with a 3.3kW charger. Using a DC fast charger takes 58 minutes to recharge from 10 to 80 percent. It measures 3769mm in length, 1677mm in width, 1536mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2400mm.
Rivals: The Tiago EV rivals the likes of the MG Comet EV, Citroen eC3 and is an alternative to the Tata Tigor EV.
Range: Tiago EV can go upto 250 - 315 km/charge after a full charge.
Variants: It is offered in two broad trims: Medium Range and Long Range with four variants: XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Tech Lux. The smaller 19.2kWh battery pack can be configured with XE and XT variants while the larger 24kWh battery pack can be configured with XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux variants. I bought tiago ev, Top end model, 24 kwh battery, Last month.So far has done close to 1300 kms.Super driving experience, Excellent initial torque; there is no delay in transmission; feel is great.Currently, My car runs ~200 kms on full charge with ac and on regen-2.Car is excellent and is a good buy.Having said that, The following need to be looked by tata for improvement:1.Interior plastic is poor quality and certain places mis aligned and visible.2.Head lights to be white and led.Lights are poor.3.Above all hill hold function is very very essential in electric cars as it can roll over in a cliff.This needs to be incorporated as an option with cost.4.The car alarm systems are on for few secs.Eg.If the door is open and you drive, There is no audible alarm; just a small indication in the dashboard which gets ignored.These are mandatory and should be incorporated.Hope tata takes up the above suggestions, Reviews and incorporates for future models.Overall, Excellent vehicle to drive in a city.
