Tata Punch

Tata Motors has updated the Punch, which now gets three new fresh variants and a handful of feature additions. Along with this update, Tata Motors has discontinued a few variants of the micro SUV as well. The carmaker has also made the sunroof more accessible by introducing it in lower-end variants.

The Tata Punch is a great city car for its price, delivering a good balance of ground clearance, style, features and variants to choose from.

Tata Punch Key Highlights

Features: The Tata Punch comes with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, wireless phone charger, a 6-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, cruise control, steering mounted audio controls and rear AC vents. Passenger safety is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors with camera and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Engine: The Tata Punch is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which churns out 88 PS and 115 Nm of peak torque. It is attached with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. You can also opt for a CNG kit variant, which has a dual-cylinder technology, wherein the engine output reduces to 73.5 PS and 103 Nm. Talking about its fuel efficiency, the petrol manual version delivers a claimed figure of 20.09kmpl. The petrol AMT variant offers a mileage of 18.8kmpl and the CNG variant returns 27km/kg. The Tata Punch has a length of 3,827mm, 1,742mm in width, and 1,615 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,245 mm and a ground clearance of 187mm. The Tata Punch offers a boot space of 210 litres for the CNG variant and 366 litres for the petrol variant.

Rivals: Tata Punch has a bunch of competitors like the Hyundai Exter, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. It can also be considered as an SUV alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.

Variants: The Tata Punch is offered in four broad trims: Pure, Accomplished, Adventure, and Creative. These trims further branch out to sub variants, which get additional features. The Tata Punch is available in seven colour options: Orcus White, Daytona Grey, Tropical Mist, Calypso Red, Meteor Bronze, Tornado Blue and Atomic Orange. The red and blue hues get a white roof, while all others get a black roof.
