In the 150cc streetfighter segment, the Gixxer continues to provide one of the best all-round packages in this class, coming very close to the Apache RTR 160 4V. However, in BS6 form it has become quite a lot more expensive and has lost engine output too, robbing it of some value for money.

Suzuki Gixxer 150 Overview

Suzuki has hiked the prices of the Gixxer for the second time in as many months. The bike now costs Rs 1,16,700, Rs 2,013 more than its previous price. However, the motorcycle neither gets a cosmetic nor mechanical upgrade.

Suzuki Gixxer 150 Key Highlights

Design: The Gixxer has always featured muscular streetfighter styling right since the start, and even though it received a design update last year, the overall ethos of the appearance remains the same. There’s a large, sculpted fuel tank that takes centre-stage, and the flat, wide handlebars give the Gixxer a butch stance. The signature twin exhaust exits are still present and seem to be a hit with buyers.

Features: The Gixxer’s sharp look is also thanks to the LED headlight and tail-lamp that Suzuki is offering. Turn indicators continue to be conventional bulbs. Instrumentation is a fully-digital affair with read-outs like two trip-meters and real-time fuel-efficiency being shown. Single-channel ABS ensures safety when panic braking.

Engine: The 155cc motor powering the Gixxer was already fuel-injected, and has now become BS6-compliant thanks to some new ECU maps and an additional catalytic converter. As a result, output has taken a hit, down from 14.1PS/14Nm to 13.8PS/13.6Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Gixxer is held together by a single-downtube frame and suspension components comprising a conventional telescopic fork and preload-adjustable monoshock. It rolls on 17-inch wheels at both ends and anchorage is provided by disc brakes at both ends assisted by single-channel ABS. The increase in weight on the BS6 version is insignificant, just 1kg.

Rivals: The Suzuki Gixxer goes up against its long-time rivals, the Yamaha FZS-Fi, and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and the Hero Xtreme 160R.

Recently i bought suzuki gixxer 150 which is quiet good on everythings but my bike gaves mileage of 30 km /ltr in highway and 20-23 on street road short distance riding also has heating problem
