Royal Enfield earlier trademarked a name. The Scrambler 650 was spotted testing earlier this year . It was spotted testing abroad earlier too. It packs premium underpinnings and looks good!
The test mule sits on the same frame as the Interceptor 650. It has a different seat though. The bike gets an upside down fork, that’s likely to be different from the ones seen on the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650, and the twin shocks are not gas-charged as the ones found on the Interceptor 650. That said, they’ll still be preload-adjustable.
Further underpinnings include a disc brake at both ends and dual-channel ABS will most likely come as standard. The wheels on the test mule were wire-spoked units that came shod with MRF Nylore X tyres.
While its market launch is probably still quite some time away, Royal Enfield could price it starting from Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom). For perspective, the Interceptor 650’s prices start from Rs 3.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Once on sale, it'll go up against the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 6 ½.
