Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Overview
The Continental GT 650 was one of the first twin-cylinder bikes launched by Royal Enfield. It is a proper old-school cafe-racer designed to look like it came straight from the 1960s. It’s one of the cheapest twin-cylinder bikes and also the cheapest cafe-racer in India.

Price: The Continental GT 650 comes in six colour variants: The British Racing Green and Rocker Red variants come priced at Rs 3,19,000 with the Dux Deluxe costing Rs 3,29,000. Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey variants (both with alloy wheels) cost Rs 3,39,000. The top-spec Mr. Clean variant costs Rs 3,45,000 (prices ex-showroom Delhi).
Design: The Continental GT650 sports a round headlight, adjustable clip-ons and a flat seat with an optional pillion cowl. The side panels are fairly simple, with clean lines. The bike gets rearset footpegs and 18-inch spoke wheels, giving it a proper cafe-racer look. Certain variants even feature cast-alloy wheels and an LED headlight, making the cafe racer look a bit more modern.
Features: The Continental GT comes with clip-on handlebars and a single seat with optional rear cowl. Some variants even feature a blacked-out engine casing and exhaust. The bike is equipped with a twin-pod analogue instrument console with a speedometer and a tachometer, along with a small digital inset to display the odometer, two trip meters, fuel gauge, and service indicator. It comes with an LED headlight (only in the alloy wheel variant), but a halogen tail light and indicators. The alloy wheel variant also comes with rotary switches (on the right and left switchgear) with a USB port on the left. Royal Enfield even offers optional accessories like bar-end mirrors, intake covers, touring seat, flyscreen, roll-top panniers, engine guard and sump guard.
Engine: The Continental GT 650 is powered by a BS6.2-compliant 648cc air-/oil-cooled parallel twin engine which churns out 47.45PS and 52.3Nm. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.
Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 comes with a tubular steel double cradle chassis which is suspended on a 41mm fork and preload-adjustable gas-charged twin shocks. Braking is handled by a 320mm front disc and 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike gets a 100-section front and 130-section rear tyre wrapped on 18-inch spoke or alloy wheels. It has a ground clearance of 174mm, weighs 214kg (kerb) and comes with a 12.5-litre fuel tank. Rivals: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 has no rivals as such, but more affordable cafe racer alternatives would be the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250.
