An interesting electric scooter was spotted testing on Indian turf, alongside a fleet of Bajaj Chetaks, hinting that it could be the Chetak’s updated version or a future platform for the KTM electric scooter. But on closer inspection, the test mule seems quite similar to the Husqvarna Vektorr e-scooter concept, unveiled in May this year. So could this be the Husky Vektorr and not the Chetak? Well, here’s what we think:
One look at the test mule and the Vektorr side by side, and you’ll be almost convinced it is indeed the Vektorr. But look closely and you’ll notice that the Vektorr has more radical lines and bodywork than the camo-wrapped test mule. The latter comes out as more voluptuous and flowy in terms of design similar to the Chetak.
Also, the Husqvarna Vektorr’s dangling tail section is a lot sharper than the rounded unit on the test mule.

Differences aside, the test mule and the Vektorr do have plenty in common. For instance, the spied scooter’s split seat and grab rail are reminiscent of the Vektorr’s, and so is the round circular instrument cluster.
Even the hub-mounted motor and the humongous rear hugger are identical on both. If so, we hope the power figures are better than the numbers Husqvarna claimed (around 45kmph top speed and 95km range) for the Vektorr in May.
To conclude, yes this very well could be the Husqvarna Vektorr’s production variant undergoing tests on our soil (all hail the KTM-Bajaj joint venture!). However, even if that is the case, we still believe Bajaj will probably introduce an update for the Chetak soon.
