MRF tyres have introduced a new range of tyres for 150cc and above motorcycles in the Indian two-wheeler market. Christened as ‘Masseter’, these tyres are the latest addition to MRF’s existing product range, developed after extensive research. The prices of the tyres vary between Rs 3,500-5,000 for a set, depending on the motorcycle.
Aimed at passionate riders who like to hit long and winding roads, the Masseter tyres have been specially designed to inspire more cornering abilities. The tyres make use of soft compound rubber, rounded edges and contours that have been specially designed to aid in navigating steep curves with ease. The company has mentioned that all these elements in the Masseter tyres contribute to offer superior grip in wet conditions, advanced lean angle for better cornering performance, improved braking due to softer compound and better balance due to wider contact patch.
MRF had unveiled the tyres at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore where seasoned riders were invited to test and experience the new tyres on the race track. After doing laps on the track, the riders were briefed by the MRF Product team about the benefits and features of the new tyres.
Speaking on the occasion, Koshy Varghese, executive vice president, marketing at MRF Ltd, said: "The idea was to get people to actually experience what the Masseter tyre can do. When it comes to tyres that are used for cornering, a rider isn't going to risk sticking to a tyre of average quality. We wanted to simulate an environment where the rider could test the tyre to the hilt but be assured of his safety while doing so."
