2024 Honda CB300R Launched In India: Gets A Massive Price Cut

The CB300R now costs Rs 50,000 less than its chief rival, the BMW G 310 R

The 2024 Honda CB300R is here and at Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), it gets a massive Rs 37,000 price cut! Now, price cuts always excite us, but this one is a little bit more special than the others. Let us explain:

You see, the Honda CB300R has always been a likeable pocket rocket and we found it to be impressive when we rode it four years ago. In fact, it’s the only small-capacity Honda bike that really impressed us enthusiasts, with it’s light, peppy handling and beautiful looks! The only fly in the ointment was its Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom) price tag,  which brought it uncomfortably close to the more powerful and much more exciting KTM 390 Duke

But now with this chunky price cut, it not only costs Rs 50,000 less than its chief rival, the BMW G 310 R, but it’s also Rs 70,000 less than the 390 Duke and, in fact, just Rs 10,000 more than the Bajaj Dominar 400! Agreed, the Dominar 400 packs nearly 10PS more, but it’s also a massive 47kg heavier than the Honda and that, in our tests, made it slower than the Honda too. So on the whole, the Honda is definitely the more exciting of the two.

As we said earlier, the CB300R is a genuinely fun motorcycle. Its engine feels energetic, it’s fun around corners, and its agility is enjoyable even in urban conditions. On top of that, it feels premium in design as well as build quality. This blend of madness and maturity is really unique to the CB300R, and this is something that might just make it more appealing to those who find the KTM 390 Duke a little too brash and the BMW G 310 R too expensive.
