2023 Tata Nexon’s One-above-base Pure Variant Detailed In 8 Pics

Tata has just launched the Nexon facelift in India with prices starting from Rs 8.09 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in four broad trims, which share a bunch of new features and safety additions between them. But in this story, we take a look at the one-above-base variant of the new Nexon, and see what it looks like and features using 8 images:

Tata Nexon Pure Design

Being on the lower end of the Nexon’s expansive variants’ list, the Pure variant doesn't get the sequential turn indicators, but it still features a full LED headlight and DRL setup. The headlights also feature the “follow me home” feature. There’s still no fog lamp, though, and the skid plate is the same colour as the bumper.

You still don’t get alloy wheels in profile, but it does gain a wheel cover (over the base-spec Nexon). In profile, the rest of the styling – save for the addition of the roof rails – is simple. However, the skid plate stands out as it isn’t body-coloured.

The rear features the connected LED taillights that imitate an X-shaped motif, while the bumper is finished in a black hue just like at the front. The Pure variant of the Nexon can be had in four monotone exterior shades: Pure Grey, Calgary White, Flame Red, and Daytona Grey.

Tata Nexon Pure Cabin and Features

The cabin features a dual tone theme with black being the prominent colour and a white hue giving a contrasting look. The latter can be found on the door trims and on the slim panel on the dashboard. 

Note: Shown image is of the Pure S variant, hence there’s a sunroof visible. The base-spec Pure variant doesn’t get it. 

Tata’s new touch-sensitive control panel makes its way onto this variant, both on the central console (for HVAC) and on the two-spoke steering wheel. Just like on the base variant, there’s no wireless charging and neither is there a central armrest, though you do get additional storage space as a flipside.

It features the same seven-inch infotainment system as the outgoing model, paired to a four-speaker sound system. It also gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the driver gets a four-inch digital instrument cluster.  Other features include all power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear AC vents, rear power outlet, and voice commands for media control. 

In terms of safety features, the Nexon offers six airbags, electronic stability program, ISOFIX mounts, and hill-hold control right from its base-spec variant.

Tata Nexon Pure Powertrains

Tata offers the Nexon with two engine options: a 120PS/170Nm 1.2-litre turbo petrol, and a 115PS and 260Nm 1.5-litre diesel engine. The Pure variant of the Nexon gets both the engine options, but only with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 6-speed AMT and the 7-speed DCT (for turbo-petrol only) are made available from the Creative trim onwards.

Both engines get three drive modes: Eco, City, and Sport.

Tata Nexon Pure Price

Prices for the Tata Nexon start from Rs 8.09 lakh and go up to Rs 15.50 lakh (all prices ex-showroom) for the top-spec trim. The Pure variant with the petrol engine retails at Rs 9.7 lakh (ex-showroom), while its diesel variant costs Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
