• Q. Has anyone upsized their tyres? If yes then are you facing any problems while cornering? Do I need to change our modify anything? Is tyre touching the chain? I have a dual disc variant and I am planning to upsize both front and rear tyre by 1 size. What do you guys have to say about it - Pulsar NS160?

    No. My friend has. My bike is relatively new and the new mrf stock tyres are good enough for now. I'll upsize once they get worn out. I'm thinking about using mrf revz s 130/70 R17 or ceat zoom rad 130/70 R 17 for rear and pirelli sport demon 100/80 R17.Here are few technical terms you need to know.Ns 160 (single disc): rear rim width 2.15×17. front rim 1.85×17.Ns 160 (dual disc/ abs): rear rim width 2.50× 17 . Front rim 1.85× 17( rear has wider rim)Pulsar 220: rear rim width 2.50× 17 . Front rim 1.85× 17Ns 200 : rear rim 3.50 × 17 . Front rim 2.5× 17.On both ns 160 varient , you can mount a 130/70 on rear and 100/80 on front. Putting a 100 /80 on front will give some speedometer error, if you don't want that to happen then stick to stock front tyre.On rear I've checked the 130/70 on both single disc and dual disc varient. It won't touch the chain, guard and swingarm, there is enough room for the tyre to rotate freely. But I don't recommend a 130/70 on rim 2.15× 17. It's too small to accommodate such wide tyre. As stock on 2.15×17 rim the tyre used is 110/80. 130/70 will fit on it but it won't look wide like ns 200 because of smaller rim. It'll look more like a 125 section tyre ( just giving you an idea) because the tyre will adjust its height and width according to rim width. On rim 2.50 × 17. A 130/70 will fit without affecting the sidewall height and tyre width. As a rule of thumb you can always upsize or downsize by 1 number but more than that will hamper your ride.

    Using 130/70/17 on rear and 100/80/17 on front on ns 160 is perfectly fine as stock comes with 120/80/17 rear and 90/90/17 front. Both can be fitted to stock rim without any modifications and the tyre will rotate freely because there is enough space between the swingarm, chain etc. So you don't have to worry about tyre touching the chain. Trust me, it wont. The performance drop and milage drop is not much, close to negligible.

    I have ns 160 dual disc abs variant. Which has 120 section in rear. I upgraded to 130 profile. But guys i recommend do not change. Now it looks like 110 to me. For this thinner rim it will increase height but not width. i was so lucky that the trye seller took back the tyre and refunded me.
