You need no license or registration in India for scooters that have their top speed capped at 25km per hour or has a motor of 250W or lower. However, the Ampere Magnus is powered by a 1200 W Hub Motor and the top speed is around 50±3 kmph, thus requiring license and registration.

Ampere Magnus Pro is powered by a 1200W motor linked to a 60V, 30Ah advanced lithium-ion battery that offers a claimed range of 100km in Eco mode and 80km in Cruise mode. The battery takes 5-6 hours to fully charge. As for the performance, the scooter is capable of accelerating from 0-40kmph in 10 seconds while the top speed is capped at 55kmph. Like other EVs, the scooter is pocket friendly and the company claims a Rs. 15p/km running cost.
