KTM RC 125 Latest Updates

KTM and Husqvarna India are now providing a 5-year extended warranty along with 1-year roadside assistance for free across all their models, applicable from April 1, 2024. KTM has launched the 2024 RC and Adventure line-up with new colour variants, check them all out here.

KTM RC 125 is the Austrian bike maker’s entry-level supersport. Although it comes with a smaller engine, its body and underpinnings remain almost identical to its larger counterparts.

KTM RC 125 Key Highlights

Price: KTM RC 125 is available in two colours and can be purchased for Rs 1,89,542 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Design: The iconic twin-projector headlight is replaced by a broad halogen headlight in the last updated RC 125. The bike also comes with fairing-mounted DRLs and LED indicators. The side fairing, in conjunction with a curved radiator, directs hot air away from the rider's legs, making rides more comfortable during slow moving traffic.

Features: The new RC 125 gets a LCD instrument console, borrowed from 250 Adventure. It displays bits like speed, engine RPM, trip-meter/odometer readings, real-time mileage, distance-to-empty and average speed, along with the general trove of information. The display is quite informative, however, it misses out on Bluetooth connectivity. The bike also skimps on the LED headlight unit, which its larger siblings come with. Hence, the RC 125 comes with a halogen headlight, while the tail lamp and blinkers continue to be LED units.

Engine: KTM RC 125 is powered by a single-cylinder, 124.7 cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine, which churns out 14.5PS and 12Nm. The motor comes paired with a 6-speed transmission and the bike gets a 13.7 litre fuel tank. The bike is put together on a tubular split-trellis frame, which is suspended on a 43mm front USD fork and 10-step-preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear (both being WP Apex units). Braking is handled via a 320mm disc with radial calliper up front and 230mm rear disc with a floating calliper setup, with single-channel ABS coming as standard. The bike rolls on 17 inch alloy wheels, which come wrapped in 110-section (front) and 150-section (rear) tubeless MRF tyres. The bike weighs 160kg (kerb) and has 835mm seat height, along with 158mm ground clearance.

Rivals: The 2022 KTM RC 125 goes up against the likes of the Yamaha R15 V4. In terms of hardware, the two supersport machines are on par with each other. The R15 V4 is a better performer, given its larger 155cc mill with more power on tap. At a price similar to RC 125, you could also consider buying the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, Jawa and the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

Variants: The RC 125 is offered as a single standard variant, with two paint schemes (Silver & Black).

KTM RC 125 Pros and Cons

RC 125 Advantages

Slightly more ergonomic than before, Larger seat, Excellent handling

RC 125 Disadvantages

Rather expensive for a bike with so little power

RC 125 Expert's Conclusion

The KTM RC125 could be a great beginner sportbike for younger riders making their way into the world of sport riding. While the handling packaging is excellent and friendly, the lack of performance will lead a lot of riders to outgrow the RC 125 really. And the fact that you can get the more powerful and equally great handling Yamaha R15 V4 for almost the same price deflates this baby KTM’s proposition.

  • adventurous and active

The ktm rc 390 is not sporty but an adventurous and active bike. The exterior design is very modern and looks quite cool specially for daily commute purposes. I have the red colour bike which looks very attractive. The boot space is very spacious and can be used comfortably. The best thing about it is its affordable but the features like moderate weightedness and conenience are worth the price.

  • uncountable benefits

Built with many uncountable benefits, the ktm rc 125 is a cool and amazing model. It has distinguishing features and functions that makes it stand apart from the other ktm models. It is a tad bit expensive but its worth the quality and features that it comes with. The ground clearance is good. The mileage is good and the powerful engine provides a good amount of cc. I would definitely recommend this bike.

  • Pricing too high

Ktm RC 125 is a true sports bike with attractive design and durable build quality. it comes with a 125cc engine which looks small after seeing the body structure. it gives mileage of 40kmpl and the maintenance cost is moderate. according to me the pricing is so high for a 125cc engine bike. beside the price I am happy with the riding quality.

  • Very high price

It is one of the best sports bike under 2 lakh and it also gives good mileage with the impessive riding experience. The seat of this bike is large and is very great to handle this bike but the price is very high for what it gives with low power. The engine of this bike is potent and the brakes performs really good but at this price there are many bikes with the big capacity engine and it feels unpowered.

  • safety being the first priority

The KTM RC 125 is known for its aggressive looks and sporty character, all packed in a smaller, more manageable 125cc engine package. The RC 125 has a claimed top speed of around 110 kmph, which is ideal for city riding and occasional highway commutes. The brakes are good enough for everyday riding. The riding position leans towards sporty which is very uncomfortable my father to ride. The suspension offers a balance between handling and comfort.

  • Represents style, power, and control

Everywhere I go, the KTM RC 125 draws attention because to its eye-catching appearance. It delivers a taste of the KTM experience at an economical price, costing Rs. 1.82 Lakh. Choosing my chosen appearance is simple because to the one variation and two colour selections. On every journey, the 124.7 cc bs6 engine guarantees a punchy performance that keeps me interested. Both the front and back wheels have disc brakes, which provide secure and confident braking. It seems light and quick on the road despite weighing 160 kg. I can travel further without having to stop frequently for fuel because of the 13.7 litre fuel tank. Every ride on the KTM RC 125 is an experience because it represents style, power, and control in a small package.

  • Maintenance is challenging

Service is simple and reasonably priced. However, maintenance is challenging since you have to ride the bike smoothly. Scratches on it can be caused by little items. Additionally, it is quite hefty, so the parking place must to be level. In the city, there are a lot of service centres that are accessible. Overall, if you enjoy riding sports motorcycles and have a budget of around 2 lac, you should get this. It might be your go-to choice for daily use. because the bike is quick and has a cheap running cost. However, if you are engaged in a physically demanding profession, such as field labour, you should exercise caution since rough handling can harm both the body and the bike. Maintenance is challenging. But I cherished my bike.

  • Thrilling riding experience

The dynamic character of the KTM RC 125 has piqued my curiosity. It costs Rs. 1.82 Lakh and represents an investment in both elegance and performance. Personalization is simple with only one version and two colours to pick from. The 124.7 cc bs6 engine provides an exciting ride that is ideal for both city streets and wide highways. Having disc brakes on both wheels ensures accurate and quick braking. With a weight of 160 kg, it provides a balanced and controlled ride that instils confidence in corners. With a fuel tank size of 13.7 litres, I can go for long periods of time without having to stop for gas. The KTM RC 125 blends style and performance to create a thrilling riding experience.

  • Compact Thrill Machine

KTM RC 125 is an available access into the arena of sporty motorcycles, tailored for novices and concrete commuters. Powered with the aid of a zippy 124.7cc engine, it offers conceivable overall performance and nimble handling. The aggressive sportbike layout, lightweight shape, and commendable build excellent make contributions to its appeal. However, rider consolation is compromised due to the sporty posture and company seat. It gives fundamental capabilities but lacks some premium sportbike services. On the upside, it excels in fuel efficiency. For riders looking for sporty styling and access-degree overall performance, the RC 125 is an affordable choice.
