Jeep Meridian Overview

Jeep has reintroduced the Meridian X at a starting price of Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the entry level Limited trim, and commands Rs 50,000 premium. This package can also be opted for in higher trims like the Limited (O) and Overland by paying the same premium. Exterior updates include a grey coloured roof, alloy-wheels in grey shade and addition of side-steps. On the inside, the Meridian X gets an optional rear seat entertainment package with screens for second row occupants, ambient footwell lighting, window sunshades and an air-purifier.

The Jeep Meridian is a 7-seater SUV. It is a premium SUV, with all the features and comforts you could ask for at the price point. Its luxurious cabin and the quality of materials used in it, makes it a nice place to be in. It is available with both FWD and AWD options and the power is delivered by a sole diesel engine. It gives competition to other full-size SUVs such as the MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and the Toyota Fortuner.

Jeep Meridian Key Highlights

Features: The Jeep Meridian gets a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, connected car technology, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, wireless phone charger, powered and ventilated seats, powered tailgate, dual-pane sunroof, electronic parking brake and an Alpine sound system with nine speakers. Its safety kit includes ABS with EBD, six airbags, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist, ISOFIX child anchorages, and 360-degree camera with parking sensors.

Engine: The Jeep Meridian is powered by a 2-litre diesel engine producing 170PS and 350Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. It can be configured with front-wheel or all-wheel drivetrain, the latter only with the 9-speed automatic gearbox option. It measures 4769mm in length, 1859mm in width, 1698mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2782mm.

Rivals: It rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, VW Tiguan, Citroen C5 Aircross and Skoda Kodiaq.

Variants: There are 3 broad trims to choose from: Limited, Limited (O) and Overland. The Meridian X accessories kit can be additionally opted for in any variant by paying a premium of Rs 50,000.

An amazing all rounder car

I have had the Jeep Meridian for a decent time now and as per what i have experienced this is a perfectly balanced car. The bossy exterior designs are balanced with the great features it offers. This interiors are some of the most comfortable i have experienced. In terms of specs, this car comprises of 1956cc engine which roars out loud and makes its pressence known. The car has a great top speed of 198 kmph which is a great plus point in my opinion.

Most premium car in india

When seen on the road it attracts attention due to its premium interior quality and excellent off road capabilities. The interior is of excellent quality with soft touch materials and the Jeep Meridian provides an incredibly smooth and comfortable ride on rough roads, along with great handling and feature-rich controls. Highway travel is extremely convenient, smooth, and feature-rich.

Jeep Meridian: A Sturdy Companion with a Few lags

Last summer, I was on a road trip through the tough surfaces of Himachal Pradesh with my trusty Jeep Meridian. The 2.0L Multijet diesel engine, providing 170 bhp made climbing hills super easy. The 7 seater space comfortably accommodated my family and our ton of luggage trust me, as we Indians do not travel with light luggage. The infotainment system though decent with an 8.4 inch touchscreen, sometimes it lags.
