Smooth City Slicker
- The Hero Xtreme 160R 2V is the manufacturer’s first 160cc streetfighter
- It offers a great mix of sporty riding and everyday commuting
- While it’s not the most powerful bike in the segment, it’s well liked for its easy-going nature and nimble handling
- The Hero Xtreme 160R 2V was updated recently with a single piece seat with a flatter profile, sleeker tail-end, H-shaped taillight and new colour schemes
-
Muscular Streetfighter
- The large side panel than runs from the tank to the back makes the bike quite muscular
- The unique headlight design, upswept tail section and the overall sharp design lines give it a sporty vibe
- Build quality of the switchgear could have been better
- Indicator switch is placed too high making it a bit uncomfortable to use on a daily basis
-
Smooth Operator
- The motor provides smooth and quick acceleration
- It has good mid-range performance, which makes as it fun bike when ridden in a spirited manner In our real world tests, the bike returned mileage figures of 55.47kmpl in the city and 47.38kmpl on the highway
- The streetfighter accelerated from 0-60kmph in 5.62 seconds during our real world tests
- Post 7,000rpm, vibrations can be felt at the footpegs and the handlebar
-
Agile And Lightweight
- The bike has very agile handling characteristics and tips into corners easily
- The light kerb weight of the bike also makes it easy to manoeuvre in the city or through twisty corners in the hills
- These factors make it easy to move in and out of traffic on the Xtreme 160R 2V
- The brakes offer really good stopping power and the feedback is good as well
- The bike’s straight line stability could’ve been better, and feels a bit shaky at high speeds
-
Good But Could’ve Been Better
- The suspension setup offers a plush ride quality on most surfaces
- It almost glides over smaller bumps and rough roads
- Over on really bad roads with large bumps and potholes, the shocks are transferred to the rider
-
Not So Comfy
- The spaced out footpegs and upright handlebar make the bike comfortable for taller riders
- The not-so-tall seat height makes the bike accessible for shorter riders as well
- - The sharply curved rider’s seat translates to an uncomfortable experience during those long hours on the saddle
- The pillion seat is a bit tipped forward which can cause discomfort for some people
-
Not So Feature-Packed
- The all-LED lighting setup makes the bike feel premium
- The drag race timer on the instrument console is a nifty and unique feature
- The negatively-lid console doesn’t offer good visibility under harsh sunlight
- The absence of turn-by-turn navigation feels like a big miss
-
Decent Option As A Daily Commuter
- The Hero Xtreme 160R 2V offers a decent package of smooth performance, great handling capabilities, decent ride quality and an adequate list of features
- The bike is suitable for someone looking for a sporty 160cc bike with decent hardware and features at an affordable price range
- But by shelling out about Rs 27,000 more, one can opt for the 160R 4V, which offers superior performance, premium hardware and a much better features list
