Ather 450X Latest Updates
According to SIAM (Society of Indian Automotive Manufacturers) sales data, the Ather 450X is one of the best-selling EVs in May 2024.
The Ather 450X is the flagship electric scooter made by Ather Energy and is available in two variants. The Ather 450X is available in 6 colours - Cosmic Black, Still White, Salt Green, Space Grey, True Red and Lunar Grey.
Ather 450X Key Highlights
Price: The Ather 450X is available in two variants, with 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh capacity batteries. The 2.9kWh variant is priced at Rs 1,40,599 and the 3.7kWh variant is priced at Rs 1,54,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru, including EMPS subsidy but not including state subsidy).
Design: The third-generation Ather 450X combines practicality with sporty aesthetics. Its design is characterised by an apron-mounted LED headlight and sleek body panels that seamlessly blend to create a cohesive look. The e-scooter boasts a flat floorboard that extends to the sides, serving as pillion footrests, which simplifies its construction with fewer moving parts. In its latest iteration, the 450X features an updated seat designed to enhance both rider and pillion comfort. Furthermore, the stylish LED tail lamp extends downward, incorporating turn signals at the rear, adding a unique touch to the scooter's appearance. It also introduces a redesigned switchgear for the instrument console, enhancing the overall user experience.
Features: The latest AtherStack 5.0 software update gets a lot of improvements for the third-generation Ather 450X, all accessible through its IP65-rated 7-inch colour-TFT touch-enabled console. The console has undergone a subtle layout redesign, now featuring a Bluetooth prompt and time readouts in the top-right corner, reminiscent of a mobile phone interface. It also incorporates various gesture functions to enhance user interaction. With the new firmware, the 450X enhances its navigation capabilities. While it already supported Google Maps, it now introduces '3D Vector' Maps, allowing for perspective changes similar to those in Android Auto for cars. Furthermore, the included trip planner is invaluable for planning stops, including charging stations, on long-distance journeys. The latest Over-The-Air (OTA) software update also includes two-wheeler-specific ride routes, enhanced live traffic indicators and improved GPS connection. The Ather 450X also introduces an Auto Hold (hill hold) function, which remains engaged until you tap the brakes to disengage it. The scooter features all-LED lighting and offers Bluetooth-enabled call and music controls. It comes equipped with integrated 4G LTE SIM connectivity and boasts 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage. It's worth noting that some of these features are part of the 'Pro-pack' and come at an additional cost. Without the Pro-pack, the 450X will have a black-and-white display and won't include the five riding modes: Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp.
Motor: The Ather 450X comes equipped with a PMS (Permanent Magnet Synchronous)) motor that delivers a nominal power of 3kW and can achieve a peak power output of 6.4kW, accompanied by a torque of 26Nm. These specifications result in the e-scooter claiming a top speed of 90kmph. The scooter offers two battery pack options: a 3.7kWh variant and a 2.9kWh variant. The 3.7kWh battery provides a certified range of 150km, while the 2.9kWh variant offers a certified range of 111km. Charging times for these variants vary, with the 3.7kWh battery requiring 5 hours and 45 minutes for a full charge, and the 2.9kWh variant necessitating 8 hours and 36 minutes to reach a full charge.
Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The Ather 450X gets an aluminum chassis with a suspension system that includes a telescopic front fork and a monoshock unit in the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by a 200mm front disc and a 190mm rear disc, both equipped with CBS (Combined Braking System) and regenerative braking as standard. This scooter rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels, sporting 90-section front and 100-section rear tubeless tyres. It maintains a ground clearance of 170mm and a seat height of 780mm. In terms of weight, the 3.7kWh variant has a kerb weight of 111.6kg, while the 2.9kWh variant weighs 108kg.
Rivals: The Ather 450X’s rivals are the Ola S1 Pro, Bajaj Chetak, TVS X, TVS iQube Electric and Hero Vida V1, and the Simple One.
Range: The 2.9kWh variant of the 450X gets a true range of 90km when operating in SmartEco mode, while the 3.7kWh variant delivers a true range of 110km in the same SmartEco mode.
Charging Time: Charging the battery of the 2.9kWh variant of the 450X requires a total of 8 hours and 36 minutes for a complete charge. In contrast, the 3.7kWh variant's battery can be fully charged in just 5 hours and 45 minutes.
Variants: The Ather 450X is available in two different variants, featuring battery capacities of 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh. Both of them are available with a choice of six distinct paint schemes: Space Grey, Still White, Salt Green, True Red, Cosmic Black, and Lunar Grey.

450X Disadvantages
Ride quality is a bit on the firmer side, With the portable charger underseat storage gets full very easily, Key features can only be unlocked with the Pro pack
450X Expert's Conclusion
The Ather 450X stands out as the most exhilarating electric scooter currently available in the Indian market. While it may not boast an overwhelming array of features, straight-line performance, or range compared to some other e-scooters, it excels in delivering flawless functionality. Though it comes with a slightly higher price tag, especially when considering the Pro pack, if you seek an e-scooter that embodies sportiness and thrill, along with usability there's currently no other option quite like it.

5.0Ather Energy 450x Gen 3 was
The ather energy 450x gen 3 was launched in mid-2022, And the electric motor has the potential to produce around 8.7 horsepower. The vehicle is better built due to its complete aluminium frame. It has an enhanced digital dashboard to ensure the smooth functioning of the scooter, Along with a new tyre tread profile and tyre pressure monitoring system that make it remarkable and give a good riding experience. The ather energy 450x is priced between 1.3 lac and 1.6 lac, Which is slightly on the higher side when compared to its immediate competitors. The battery has a life span of around 50, 000 km, So it is unlikely to need replacement for 7-8 years.According to my experience and rough estimates, A complete charge can cost between rs.30 and rs.35, Depending on the unit price in your city.Since i am 6 feet tall, This scooter is very comfortable to handle, As it has a saddle height of around 780 mm and weighs almost 120 kg.It has a push-button start type and can store a good amount of luggage space, Enough to fulfil my daily grocery needs of around 7-8 kg.The scooter is equipped with telescopic fork suspension for a better riding experience. The pick-up of the ather energy 450x is remarkable and better than its competitors.Maintenance will be accessed at your doorstep every 5, 000 km and serviced at the ather service centre every 10, 000 km with door-to-door pickup and delivery. The maintenance cost depends entirely on the scooter's condition during inspection for any damage, Parts replacement, And labour charges. As per my personal experience, Please be present at the spot of service until your two-wheeler is completely ready.Ask questions to the professionals on how to keep the scooter in a better condition and try to learn the art of servicing your scooter on your own.The servicing cost for a normal service could be around rs.600, Unless you have any parts to replace. The most crucial part is that the mileage is around 105km which is much better than its previous versions.I am delighted about the mileage of my scooter.Advantages to mention would be:1.One of the finest electric scooters available but it comes with a price2.Excellent performance and a good pick-up as compared to its nearest competitorsdisadvantages to mention would be:1.Limited color options are available2.Expenses are on the higher side when compared to its nearest competitors3.New gen is merely an incremental improvement; the company could have added more features to the existing one.

Service center
Ather team, During chennai flood our vehicle was submerged in water for about 4 hours took it to our nearby ather service center and we received quotation from showroom for 1.2 lakhs as repair cost which is more than half of the original price which is not fair to us.Now we are totally disappointed of choosing ev as we failed to think about its efficiency and recovery against natural disaster compared to fuel bike as non ev recovery cost is very cheapif we don't receive any support from ather we cannot bare the said amount and in case of no support to consider repair cost for us please return our vehicle, But keep in mind that attraction towards ev from middle class people is going to get spoil and you are going to lose customers from majority of middle class people who looks for ev to beat fuel cost.It is not fair to replace the entire part just for you to be on the safer side keeping middle class peoples economic position at risk. There should be some rectification process atleast in future.Thank you for bringing us lesson that we middle class people should not look for ev any more as manufacturer is not considering economic position of middle class customers.Note : lack of knowledge in service center as they keep on awaiting for instructions to proceed further. With this situation just think off mind set of layman who tries to protect currentgen vehicle with no idea what and how to protect.

1.0Drivekeeping idle
Buying Experience:Buying experience is pathetic, i have pre-booked vehicle by seeing an ad with false information. Waited 11 months to receive vehicle. No proper information given at purchase time also. No proper invoice it self. Govt discount will go to company account.Just a very normal electric scooter given for an amount of 1.89 lacs moneyAll the other features need subscription and subscription amount changed multiple times before even startRiding Experience: One good thing is pickup, but shock absobers are pathetic. Need flat road to have peaceful riding.Public Charging points not available properly, and those availbele does not work, and it need solid 6 hours to get chargedCompany claims 15km for 10 mins charging but it never works with fast charging also (tested from ather Experience center it self)Ather mobile app is just a waste it wont show basic information also with out subscription.Maps and dashboard get stuck in the middle and make you get confused with no information on how many km left on driveKeeping idle will reduce charging, 15% went to zero in 2 days.No portable charger, we need to pay 10K more to get portable charger even after buying scooter with premium amount of 1.89 lacsOver all no satisfaction from 1.89 lacs scooter, it will be just a show piece after few months
