Design 

The standout feature of a 125cc commuter bike usually isn't its style, as these bikes prioritize affordability. However, the TVS Raider 125 breaks this trend. It sports unique design elements like a distinctive LED DRL, all-LED headlight, a sculpted fuel tank with knee recess, and minimalistic branding with the 3D TVS logo and Raider badges, giving it a premium look. This sets it apart from the typical 125cc commuters.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

The TVS Raider 125 stands out with its powerful 124.8cc single-cylinder three-valve engine. TVS claims it's a completely new engine, offering 11.38PS at 7500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6000rpm. This makes it the most potent motorcycle in its class. Starting the bike with the silent starter produces a surprising rumbly exhaust note. Shifting into the first gear, you'll notice the engine's urgency in delivering power, and it even responds to further throttle input with that raspy exhaust. Moreover, it features an 'Eco' riding mode, which reduces throttle response and limits the engine to 8,000rpm. This mode also includes an idle-start/stop system. On the highway, the Raider 125 handles overtaking well, comfortably maintaining speeds between 85kmph and 90kmph. Beyond that, it shows some limitations, but remember, it's a 125cc commuter bike.

Ride & Handling

Gen Z wants to explore new horizons, and the TVS Raider 125 shares that spirit. Weighing just 123kg and fitted with narrow TVS Remora tires, it's great for weaving through traffic. Surprisingly, it's also a capable weekend rider. It handles well, responsive to steering, and holds its line in corners. TVS has struck a good balance between sportiness and comfort with the suspension, making it ready for cornering and mid-corner bumps.
The suspension is firmer than some commuter rivals like the Honda SP 125, similar to the NTorq. It handles speed humps, sharp ridges, and rumble strips well without feeling too soft. Even with a passenger, it stays stable on uneven roads.

Comfort

The TVS Raider combines youthful style with practical ergonomics. Unlike typical commuter bikes in its segment, the Raider offers a more engaging riding experience. With a low and wide handlebar and slightly rear-set footpegs, it provides a commanding yet comfortable riding position. Despite its sporty features, the ergonomics remain commuter-friendly. The 780mm saddle height is the lowest among its competitors, ensuring easy ground contact. The roomy seat and flat pillion seat add to the overall comfort. 

Features

The TVS Raider 125 caters to a demanding generation raised in the digital age. Its multi-color LCD instrument panel is not only easily readable in direct sunlight but also packed with useful information like gear indicators, average speed, top speed, and fuel economy. Additionally, it features a USB charger, a must-have for the on-the-go generation. However, recognizing Gen Z's affinity for advanced technology, TVS is in the process of developing a new variant with a TFT console offering Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

Should You Buy The TVS Raider?

This bike goes beyond the basics of its category. It has a peppy engine and agility, making it stand out. Despite its sporty nature, it remains practical with features like a USB charger and useful underseat storage, enhancing your daily life. It's also suitable for highway rides, even though it's primarily a city bike.
However, the brakes could use improvement, but it's not a significant issue. TVS has succeeded in creating a unique bike that still meets expectations.
