TVS Radeon Expert Review
Design
The TVS Radeon’s design is similar to the Hero Splendor Plus. The chrome details on its body complement the overall look and make the bike stand out among its rivals. The plush single seat, tank grips, and easy-to-reach handlebars make it a comfortable commuter. The build quality is good and should ensure durability.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
Equipped with a 109.7cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, the TVS Radeon produces 8.08PS and 8.7Nm. It is paired with a four-speed gearbox. Thanks to the new TVS 'EcoThrust Fuel Injection' system enhancing engine performance, the TVS Radeon accelerates from 0 to 60kmph quicker than its predecessor, even after a slight power reduction. There's a noticeable increase in torque in the mid-speed range that improves the bike’s ability to overtake slow-moving traffic. This improvement is evident as it surpasses its BS4 counterpart in in-gear roll-on acceleration times.
The TVS Radeon delivers a smooth performance, and the BS6 model enhances the smoothness even further. With very minimal vibrations at low speeds, it feels strained when reaching 75-80kmph, usually not sustained for long periods. If mileage matters to you, you'll be pleased with the impressive city mileage of 73.68kmpl and a decent 68.6kmpl on the highway, marking significant improvements over the BS4 variant.
Handling & Ride Quality
The TVS Radeon remains lightweight and easy to handle, despite a slight increase in its weight compared to the previous model. The plush suspension takes on all the bumps and continues to provide an impressive ride quality. However, there is still room for improvement with the brakes, especially in the front drum brake variant. Opting for the disc brake version should offer much better braking performance.
Comfort
The TVS Radeon is a comfortable commuter bike, its plush and soft seat is good enough for short rides but may need thicker padding for longer journeys, which could be considered for future updates. Its upright riding position adds to the comfort with a relaxed riding experience. The Radeon is a rider-friendly bike and is suitable for riders of different heights.
Features
The TVS Radeon features a halogen headlight with an LED daytime running light below it, along with halogen indicators and taillight. The base model has an analogue instrument cluster while the mid-and top-spec models have a negative LCD display. The mid-and top-end model gets additional functions like real-time mileage, a clock, and a low-fuel warning in addition to the speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge. A USB charging port is featured at the right side of the headlamp cowl, it also comes with a side-stand indicator.
Should you buy the TVS Radeon?
The TVS Radeon is among the best bikes in the 110cc commuter segment. It is a good option for someone looking for an affordable bike with peppy performance for comfortable everyday commutes. The higher-end variants are quite feature-packed, and the build quality further enhances its appeal.
