2024 TVS Jupiter First Ride Review | A Modernized Upgrade | ZigWheels24 Aug, 2024 646238 views
TVS Jupiter Expert Review
The TVS Jupiter has received a much-awaited upgrade in 2024 with new design elements, performance updates, and features. We rode the Jupiter 110 around TVS’s test track at their plant in Hosur to get an idea of how it performs, and here’s what we think.
2024 TVS Jupiter: Design
The new Jupiter has a similar silhouette to the older scooter but has some modern elements. At the front and the rear, it gets LED strips which also house the indicators as well as piano black panels to add to its premium appeal. Overall, the build quality is good and the scooter is available in six colour schemes. For this review, we got to ride the top-spec variant in the Dawn Blue Matte.
2024 TVS Jupiter: Performance
The 113.3cc engine has also been updated and now puts out 8.02PS@6,500 rpm and 9.2Nm@5,000 rpm. TVS claims that this engine is also lighter compared to the older model. The acceleration is linear and this engine does not feel stressed at all, even when it gets to its indicated 87kmph top speed. One of the main updates to this engine is the iGo assist feature. This provides a rider with torque assist to deliver slightly increased performance when a rider needs. When the assist is ready, a notification is displayed on the console and all a rider needs to do is blip the throttle to get a slight boost of torque. In the real world, this should help with making quicker overtakes. TVS also claims that this feature will give the scooter better fuel efficiency.
2024 TVS Jupiter: Handling
The new TVS Jupiter gets the same chassis as the Jupiter 125 with minor tweaks to better suit the nature of this scooter. Out on track, the scooter handled well with how it tipped into corners and held a line stably. After just a few laps, it felt even more confidence-inspiring, thanks to the sticky TVS Eurogrip tyres. With a disc brake at the front on this top variant, the braking feel and performance is also good. A rider can grab onto the levers hard and it still comes to a halt progressively. TVS have also added a new feature where the indicators flash to warn riders behind if you brake hard when the scooter is above 50kmph.
2024 TVS Jupiter: Comfort
This is quite a comfortable scooter and TVS tell us that the seat is now a longer unit which should allow it to accommodate a rider and a pillion more comfortably. There is a good amount of space on the floorboard and overall, this riding position keeps a rider upright. Taller riders might find their knees a little too close to the apron.
2024 TVS Jupiter: Features
For added convenience, the Jupiter 110 now gets the fuel-filling cap at the front. Alongside it is USB charging port and a glove compartment as well. It gets 33 litres of underseat storage that can easily fit two half-face helmets inside of it. This top variant sports a colour LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and a switch to activate the Voice Assist feature.
2024 TVS Jupiter: Verdict
There are four variants of the Jupiter 110 priced starting at Rs 73,700 and going up to Rs 87,250 (ex-showroom prices). The base variant is a drum brake variant with steel wheels. The second variant also gets a drum brake but with alloy wheels. The third one is also a drum brake variant but with SmartXonnect. And finally, the top variant gets a disc brake. The Rs 73,00 (ex-showroom) price tag keeps it similar to the older model which is nice because you do get more stuff on offer. This is a well-engineered scooter with a refined engine, superb handling abilities and sharper looks with a premium finish that will help it appeal to a wider range of riders.
