Skoda Slavia

Skoda has launched the Sportline and Monte Carlo variants for the Slavia, which carry a few design tweaks to the car with black inserts on the exterior. The Monte Carlo treatment is the same as was seen on the Kushaq, while the Sportline variant is based on the mid-spec Signature variant. Both the new editions are available with both 1-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines and there are also benefits of Rs 30,000 for the first 5,000 orders.

The Skoda Slavia is the Czech carmaker’s compact sedan offering for the Indian market. The Slavia went on sale in 2022 and is based on the MQB A0 IN platform which is shared with other car models like the VW Virtus, Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun. The Skoda Slavia is known for its punchy turbo-petrol engines, fun to drive nature and solid build quality.

Skoda Slavia Key Highlights

Features: The Skoda Slavia is packed with features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 8-inch digital driver’s display, electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker sound system, wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, rearview camera with parking sensors, cruise control and paddle shifters(automatic only). Passenger safety is taken care of by 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and ISOFIX.

Engine: The Skoda Slavia gets two engine options. It can be had with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces an output of 116 PS and 178 Nm. It can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter. The Slavia also gets a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that can deliver 150 PS and 250 Nm. It can be mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission only. The Skoda Slavia has a claimed fuel efficiency of up to 20.32 kmpl with the petrol-manual, 18.73 kmpl with the petrol-automatic and 19.36 kmpl with the 7-speed DCT 1.5-litre petrol engine. The Slavia measures 4541 mm in length, 1752 mm in width, 1507 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2651 mm.

Rivals: The Skoda Slavia will continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and VW Virtus.

Variants: The Skoda Slavia is now available in five variants: Classic, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo. Colour options include seven monotone shades: Lava Blue, Crystal Blue, Tornado Red, Carbon Steel, Brilliant Silver, Candy White and Deep Black. The newly added Sportline edition gets dual-tone shades with the existing monotone colours paired with a Deep Black roof, except for Crystal Blue. On the other hand, the Monte Carlo can be had only in Candy White and Tornado Red paired with a Deep Black roof.

Safety Rating: The Slavia has scored a 5 star safety rating in NCAP crash tests.
