Expert's Conclusion
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is capable of doing 95 percent of what the Himalayan already does. Its lighter steering, easygoing ergonomics and firmer suspension makes it a more enticing package for newbie riders than a full-blown ADV. It’s a bummer that it lacks switchable ABS.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 Overview
Royal Enfield Scram 411, in a way, is Royal Enfield’s take on a scrambler-esque version of the already existing ADV, Royal Enfield Himalayan. It comes with a smaller front wheel and a few design tweaks, among other bits. The scrambler, along with the other Royal Enfield bikes have been updated to be BS6.2 emission norms-compliant, and you can check out the latest price list here.
Royal Enfield Scram is the brand's first scrambler-like bike. It's based on the now-discontinued Himalayan 411. It's powered by a 411cc air-cooled engine. It gets a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, both spoked, with tubed button tyres. With ample suspension travel and ground clearance, it can take on some light off-road trails, and bad roads.
Royal Enfield Scram 411 Key Highlights
Price: The bike is available in seven paint schemes, with varying price tags. The most affordable (Graphite Red, Graphite Yellow & Graphite Blue) variants cost Rs 2,06,394. The mid-tier (Blazing Black & Skyline Blue) variants are priced at Rs 2,08,257 with the top-end (White Flame & Silver Spirit) variants coming at Rs 2,11,984 (all ex-showroom Delhi).
Design: While the Royal Enfield Scram is based on the Himalayan, the manufacturer has given it a few design tweaks in order to make it look more of a scrambler than an ADV. So, instead of the Himalayan’s 21-inch front wheel, it comes with a 19-inch front wheel. It also gets simpler body panels along with off-road aids like serrated footpegs and a high-set exhaust, the same as the Himalayan’s. The bike comes with circular rearview mirrors and all-halogen lighting, featuring a round headlight and box-type indicator units. Even the taillight looks similar to the Himalayan. It comes with chiselled side panels, a single-piece seat, modern looking badge plates and an offset console.
Features: The Royal Enfield Scram 411 sports a semi-digital instrumentation just like the Meteor 350. It features an analogue speedometer with telltale lights and a digital inset showing tripmeter, odometer, gear position, service prompt, fuel level and a clock. The motorcycle also comes with an optional Tripper navigation (turn-by-turn assist) pod which is powered by Google Maps.
Engine: The Scram 411 is powered by a single-cylinder, BS6.2-compliant, 411cc, engine which is air/oil-cooled. It produces 24.3PS and 32Nm and the engine gets paired to a five-speed transmission. The bike is built on a half-duplex split cradle frame which is suspended on a 41mm front-fork and a linked monoshock at the rear. It rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, shod in block-pattern 100-section (front) and 120-section dual-purpose (rear) tyres respectively. Braking is handled by a 300mm front disc with two-piston floating caliper and 240mm rear disc with single-piston floating caliper. The bike weighs 185kg (kerb) and has a 15 litre fuel tank. The seat height is 795mm, and at 200mm, the ground clearance is pretty generous.
Rivals: The Royal Enfield Scram competes with the likes of the Yezdi Scrambler and Yezdi Adventure, while also rivalling the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, Zontes GK 350 and Honda CB350RS.
Variants: The Royal Enfield Scram 411 comes in only one variant but in multiple colour options at different price points. Other than the colour schemes, the mechanicals and features are the same across the board.
