Renault Kiger Overview

Renault India has launched a Night and Day limited edition for its cars including the Kiger. It gets a new shade of white paired with a black roof for its exterior besides some other updated design elements and a couple of new features. This edition is based on the mid-spec RXL variant of the sub-4-metre SUV and commands a premium of Rs 15,000 over the standard price.

The Renault Kiger is a sub-compact SUV from the French automaker, sharing its underpinnings with the Nissan Magnite. The Kiger is a package that is as stylish as it is spacious and practical. While it is one of the most affordable and value for money offerings in the segment, it is also available with naturally-aspirated and turbocharged petrol engine options, along with manual and automatic transmissions for each engine.

Renault Kiger Key Highlights

Features: The Renault Kiger features a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 6-speaker Arkamys tuned sound system, automatic climate control, LED headlights, and keyless entry with push-button start. A PM2.5 AC filter and a wireless phone charger are optional add-ons. Its safety features include four airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill start assist, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, tyre pressure monitoring, and a rear camera with parking sensors.

Engine: The Renault Kiger comes equipped with two engine options: a 1-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. The naturally aspirated petrol engine makes 72 PS and 96 Nm, while the turbocharged engine produces 100 PS and 160 Nm. Both petrol engines feature a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The automatic transmission of choice for the naturally aspirated petrol unit is an automated manual transmission (AMT), while that for turbocharged petrol is a continuous variable transmission (CVT). The Kiger measures 3991 mm in length, 1750 mm in width, 1605 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2500 mm.

Rivals: The Kiger rivals the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Tata Punch, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, and the Mahindra XUV300.

Variants: Renault offers the Kiger in five broads variants: RXE, RXL, RXT, RXT (O), and RXZ. Colour options include: Ice Cool White, Moonlight Silver, Caspian Blue, Radiant Red, Stealth Black, and Mahogany Brown. The former four shades can also be opted with a black roof as a dual-tone option on RXT(O) and RXZ variants.

Not satisfied with the interior

Renault kiger has a wide and decent appearance. The design is not much attractive for today's youth but the build quality is much better. It has a 999 cc engine with a decent mileage. The ground clearance of this car is also moderate. I personally didn't liked it's interior as it is not much spacious and infotainment system is not up to date.
