Those aching to hop onto the electric bandwagon will be pleased to know the Ampere Zeal and Magnus Pro have received a massive price cut, courtesy the revised Fame-II subsidies. This makes them a lot more accessible to customers across the country. The Zeal now costs Rs 59,990 while the Magnus Pro retails at Rs 65,990 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). That's Rs 9,000 knocked off the price.

While the previous subsidy amounted to Rs 10,000 per kWh, it has now been increased by 50 percent to Rs 15,000 per kWh. The new prices reduce the burden on EV manufacturers and put them in a better position to compete with ICE-powered two-wheelers.
Neither of Ampere’s scooters is high on features or performance, but the fact that they now cost as much as a TVS Scooty Zest should help the business reel in more customers.

Ampere’s communication comes after Ather, Hero, TVS, Revolt, and Okinawa announced their revised prices. Everyone’s been lauding the government's push for faster EV adoption and from the way things are panning out, we won’t be surprised if it meets its target of going 100 percent electric by 2030.
