Are you looking to buy an electric bike? Something that not only looks cool but is also comfortable for long rides and is feature-loaded? Well, the Komaki Ranger electric cruiser might just be the answer for you. The bike is made in India, that too with Japanese tech.
Komaki has launched its Ranger electric cruiser in the country. It comes in two variants: the Ranger XE is priced at Rs 1,68,000, while the top-end Ranger XP is available at Rs 1,85,000 (both prices ex-showroom).
The Komaki Ranger is equipped with a 5kW hub motor and has a claimed top speed of 80kmph. The Ranger XE delivers a claimed range of 160-180km while the Ranger XP has 200-250km of claimed range. Its battery charges from 0 to 90 percent in 4 hours through a fast charger.
The Komaki Ranger is the first electric cruiser to get a 7-inch TFT screen with smartphone connectivity. It even has navigation and Bluetooth calling. The electric cruiser comes equipped with LED headlights and also gets a USB charging port, side stand sensor, cruise control, reverse mode and ‘Gear Mode’. Additionally, it also has a cushioned pillion backrest. The XE variant comes without a windshield while the XP variant features a large windshield.
What makes the Komaki Ranger really stand out is the ‘dual sound pipes’ positioned in place of the traditional exhausts. It produces artificial flames and sounds for that dramatic effect. The Komaki Ranger is also equipped with panniers on both sides as standard: the XE has a 30-litre storage capacity while the XP comes with a 50-litre storage capacity.
The electric cruiser comes fitted with a telescopic front and adjustable rear suspension. Braking duties are handled by front and rear disc brakes. For added safety, the Ranger comes with a leg guard as well as a rear protection guard.
