Keep An Eye Out For These 4 New Tata EVs Set To Launch By FY 2026

Tata Motors have had an early mover advantage in the Indian electric vehicle market by introducing the Tigor EV back in 2021. Since then, Tata has expanded its EV portfolio by introducing the Nexon EV, Tiago EV and now the latest entrant being the Punch EV

With the aspiration of being the number one EV manufacturer in India, Tata has confirmed it will launch four more electric cars, which are set to be introduced by FY 2026. These include the Curvv EV and Harrier EV, which will be launched by March 2025 as well as the Sierra EV and a model based on the Avinya by March 2026. 

Tata Curvv EV

Expected Price: Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom)

Expected Launch: September 2024

Latest spied images of the upcoming Tata Curvv EV, have given glimpses of the vehicle ahead of its introduction, expected in the coming months. The Curvv EV is a SUV coupe and will rival the MG ZS EV and upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.

The interiors are going to be feature loaded with the inclusion of a large 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless phone connectivity (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a fully digital 10.25-inch driver’s display, dual zone climate control, panoramic sunroof and a premium sound system.

On the safety front, it is expected to get 6-airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, traction control system as standard across all the trims. Furthermore, it is highly possible to be equipped with Level 2 ADAS features like lane keep assist, emergency braking, blind spot monitoring system and adaptive cruise control.

The powertrain details are not yet announced, but we expect it to boast a claimed range of around 400 km to 500 km. It will also be based on the Acti.ev dedicated electric car platform that debuted in the Punch EV. .  

Tata Harrier EV

Expected Price: Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) 

Expected Launch: March 2025

The EV version of Tata Harrier was showcased at the Auto Expo back at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo. The production ready test mules have been spied on Indian roads with launch expected to take place by March 2025. The Tata Harrier.EV will be based on the Harrier, but with minor styling changes made to the exterior for a distinctive look.

On the interior front, it will again be tech and feature loaded up to the brim. All the niceties like the large 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless phone connectivity, digital driver’s display, premium sound system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, will be part of the equipment list. 

Tata Harrier EV

Safety features should encompass 6-airbags, ABS with EBD and traction control as standard across the range. It will further be equipped with all-wheel disc brakes and ADAS Level 2 features for added safety from the ICE car. 

It is expected to be powered by a large battery mated as well as dual motors powering all four wheels, and is expected to churn over 400 km to 500 km of claimed range.

Tata Sierra EV

Expected Price:Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom)

Expected Launch: July 2025

The highly anticipated Tata Sierra EV made its conceptual debut at the 2023 Auto Expo, and is confirmed to be brought in as a production variant later in 2025. The Sierra EV is expected to be offered in multiple seating configurations, improving its practicality.

The interiors will be feature rich with all the tech niceties on-board. It will be loaded with multiple screens for the infotainment and driver’s display, a panoramic glass roof, ventilated front and rear seats, multi-colour ambient lighting and a premium sound system.  Further it is expected to pack an ADAS safety suite including blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and other standard features like 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control and multiple driving modes.  

Tata Sierra EV

Powertrain details have not yet been disclosed, but we expect it to be powered by a large battery with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configuration as well as a claimed range of over 500 km. 

Tata Avinya

Expected Price: Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom)

Expected Launch: September 2026

The Tata Avinya will be based on JLR’s shared EMA (Electric Modular Architecture) platform and will be the brand’s flagship EV. First showcased as a concept back in 2022, the Avinya will spawn multiple electric cars, the first of which is expected to break cover by the end of March 2026.

Not much has been disclosed about the Avinya’s specifications, but it will surely be a head-turner EV boasting over 500 km range and will be equipped with the latest technology and features.
