Gets new colours for 2025

The Kawasaki Z900RS and Z900RS Cafe have received new colours for 2025, in Indonesia. The retro-styled bikes are based on the Z900, and get the same 948cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine that makes 111PS and 98.5Nm.

For 2025, the Kawasaki Z900RS gets a new paint scheme called Candy Tone Red, that features golden highlights on the fuel tank and other body panels. That’s perfectly complemented by chrome parts like exhaust pipes, wheel rims, headlight cowl, and the surrounds on the instrument cluster pods. The RS has a single-piece seat that has a retro appeal to it. While the circular mirrors still get blacked-out housing, chrome-finished or brushed chrome-finished housing would have added to the charm of the bike.

Launched in Indonesia

The 2025 Z900RS Cafe looks more like an old-school racer with its black paint scheme with green accents on the tank, headlight fairing, and other body panels. However, the Cafe’s exhaust has a brushed-chrome finish.

As compared to the sharp and aggressive styling of the Kawasaki Z900, its siblings look quite, well… retro. Some of the changes include a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, dual-pod analogue instrument cluster with a reverse-LED display, a circular LED headlight, and a chrome exhaust. These bikes are equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels that look spoked in their styling. Both the bikes have dual 300mm disc brakes at the front, and a 250mm disc at the rear, just like the standard Z900.

Gets a new black paint scheme

The Z900RS is currently on sale in India at Rs 16.80 lakh, while the Z900 costs Rs 9.38 lakh (both ex-showroom). This vast price difference is because the RS is imported from Japan. On the other hand, the Z900 is imported from Thailand, with whom India has a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that results in lower import costs. In terms of sheer performance, the Z900RS rivals the Triumph Speed Twin 1200; however, the latter is considerably cheaper at Rs 11.09 lakh (ex-showroom). Kawasaki could bring the 2025 Z900RS to India in the upcoming months.
