Hyundai Alcazar Prestige And Prestige (O) Petrol 6-seater Discontinued

Following poor demand, Hyundai has axed the Alcazar’s base-spec Prestige and Prestige (O) 6-seater petrol variants. While they are still showing on the carmaker’s website, we believe they’ll be taken down once sold out. With this discontinuation, the base-spec Prestige petrol is only available as a 7-seater, however, the diesel engine gets the flexibility of both 6- and 7-seating configurations.

This also means that the Prestige 7-seater and Platinum (O) will be the new entry-level trims if you’re looking for a petrol-MT and petrol-AT, respectively. 

The Alcazar Prestige petrol 6-seater was priced at Rs 16.30 lakh and the Prestige (O) at Rs 17.94 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). Prices now start from Rs 16.45 lakh for the Prestige petrol 7-seater and go up to Rs 20.15 lakh for the top-spec Signature (O) diesel dual-tone variant (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

It packed all necessary features, including LED headlights and tail lamps, a 7-inch part-digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear armrest with a wireless phone charger, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a cooled glove box. 

Passenger safety was taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, electronic stability control, and tyre pressure monitoring. 

The Alcazar still continues with the 159PS 2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 115PS 1.5-litre diesel engines, each teamed with a standard 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic. 

The Alcazar locks horns with the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700.
