After months of anticipation, it seems the time is finally here for the latest Tata product and the first one to debut in an EV avatar ahead of the ICE version – the Curvv EV. It will be the first mass-market coupe SUV offering, positioned as a rival to the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara. Specifications are yet to be revealed, but the Tata Curvv EV is expected to have a claimed range of 400 to 500 km, built on the Acti.ev platform. Expected features include dual 10.25-inch screens, panoramic sunroof, and ADAS for enhanced safety.

Nissan X-Trail

2024 Nissan X-Trail

It has been a decade since Nissan offered the iconic X-Trail in India and a couple of years since the return was hinted at. It might finally be time as Nissan has teased the fourth generation X-Trail in India. Internationally, this SUV gets a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with hybrid tech that supports both two-wheel-drive (2WD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) tech. It is also expected to be feature-loaded with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver's display of the same size, multi-zone climate control and ADAS.

The Hyundai Alcazar is a three-row version of the highly acclaimed Creta compact SUV, and it debuted three years ago. With the arrival of the Creta facelift, the Alcazar is also due for its first proper update. However recently, we have come across some test mules of Hyundai’s flagship family SUV, that look almost production-ready. In terms of the design, it will again sport a lot of elements from the updated Hyundai Creta such as the front grille, headlights and tail lights. It is also likely to carry over the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel powertrain as the current offering. However, a new feature suite includes dual-zone climate control and ADAS.

Mercedes-Benz EQA

Mercedes-Benz has been steadily expanding its electric lineup in India over the last year and is ready to introduce the smallest one yet - the EQA. The upcoming EV, based on the dinosaur-juice-powered GLA SUV, gets multiple powertrains, however, it will be interesting to see which of these gets considered for India. Like other Mercedes EVs, the EQA will sport modern interiors with dual digital displays including an MBUX infotainment system with a digital assistant, a panoramic sunroof and an advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite.

After being unveiled in the past month, bookings have commenced recently for the BMW 5 Series LWB. BMW had also recently confirmed that the wait for the eighth generation sedan will be over on July 24. It will be the first time that the long-wheelbase version of the sedan will be available in India. Talking about the changes, it will feature a new grille, headlights, tail lights and design elements. Inside, it will be more feature-loaded with dual digital screens, a heads-up display, four-zone climate control, and ADAS. While the electric BMW i5 is already here, we will find out the details and prices of the combustion engine option in July.

Mini Cooper

2024 Mini Cooper S

The latest generation of the Mini Cooper S will also be making its Indian debut this summer. This fourth-generation Cooper will feature a sleeker design while carrying the classical silhouette. The interior has more radical changes with a 9.4-inch OLED centre touchscreen panel that doubles up as the driver’s display. It gets the same 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, now packing in more performance. The feature list includes a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and auto AC. Pre-bookings for this hatchback are currently underway.

Mini Countryman Electric

The first electric Countryman SUV is going to be launched on July 24, alongside the new Mini Cooper S. On the design front, it includes a redesigned grille and taillights that are similar to the upcoming Mini Cooper. The interiors also share a resemblance to the Cooper with a 9.4-inch OLED centre touchscreen display. This EV gets a 66.4 kWh battery pack for a WLTP-rated range of 462 km. The feature net includes electrically adjustable front seats with the driver’s seat getting a massage function, electrochromic inside rearview mirror (IRVM), auto AC and a panoramic sunroof.
