The new Swift has been revealed in Australia and its the next international market to go on sale post its debut on our shores

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift has made its international debut in Australia, the next market where the popular hatchback is available post its India launch. And as expected, the model sold there gets a handful of differences when compared to the new Swift sold on our shores. Without further ado, let’s get cracking to see what the differences and similarities are.

2024 Swift Design

The overall design between the India-spec and Australia-spec Swift is largely similar, with both models sharing similar elements like the grille, LED headlights and tail lamps. The main differentiator here are the wheels, where the Australia model gets larger 16-inch rims that give it a better stance as opposed to the 15-inch ones we get here.

The colour palette offered for both the models are also nearly identical, with the Australian folks benefiting from an additional black hue. Here are all the available colours offered in both the India-spec and Australia-spec Maruti Swift:

Inside, the dashboard layout and design is identical between both the models, but there is one key difference. The India-spec model gets an all-black dashboard with silver contrasting bits, while the Australia-spec hatch gets a black / grey unit. The model sold in the continent island edges ahead in terms of features, which is what we’ll be talking about next.

2024 Swift Features Onboard

Common features available with both the models include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, analogue dials with a multi-info display, keyless entry with push button start and steering mounted audio controls.

The Australia-spec Swift gets three main additions: heated ORVMs, heated front seats and most importantly, a full suite of ADAS.

2024 Swift Engine Options

Both models are powered by a new 82 PS 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, but the Australian model benefits from mild-hybrid technology, offering torque boost and better fuel economy. While both cars get a 5-speed manual transmission, automatic options are different as the India-spec model gets a 5-speed AMT, while the one sold there gets a smoother CVT.

2024 Swift Price And Rivals

In Australia, the 2024 Swift is priced from $24,490 to $29,490, which equates to Rs 13.5 lakh to Rs 16.25 lakh (on-road). On our shores, the new-gen Swift costs from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
