Thanks to Mahindra's Chief of Design, Pratap Bose, we’ve got the best look yet at the production-ready Mahindra BE.05 electric SUV. Though the vehicle is still camouflaged, it offers insights into the changes made since the 2022 concept version.
Staying true to the concept's futuristic look, Mahindra has successfully retained the BE.05's design language. The front maintains its sharp cuts and creases, including the pointed bonnet and chic-looking sleek LED DRLs.
Notable changes appear on the sides. The five-spoke alloy wheels look more feasible for the real world in comparison to the concept’s snazzy wheels. The A-pillar cameras have been replaced with proper ORVMs, while the wheel arches lack the beefy cladding. The B-pillar in the concept was almost negligible, and is rather prominent here.
At the rear, the production design remains largely unchanged. The split rear spoiler along with the sloping roofline has been retained, which gives it a crossover-like look. Distinctive LED tail lamps mirroring the DRL style outline the tailgate.
No images of the production-spec Interior have been revealed, but the cabin is expected to resemble the concept closely. The dual 12.3-inch displays, layered dashboard design, squared-off steering wheel, and overall cockpit layout are likely to be retained with a few tweaks to the cabin color scheme. A slightly toned-down version of the futuristic cockpit design might be seen.

Mahindra's first dedicated EV built on the INGLO platform could pack a 60kWh battery, which should yield a claimed range of around 450km. The BE.05 is likely to be a two-wheel-drive vehicle, but we won’t rule out an all-wheel-drivetrain as an option. Mahindra’s new battery technology will be compatible with fast charging speeds of up to 175kW, which will allow 5 to 80 percent charging in just 30 minutes.

Anticipated to launch in October 2025, the BE.05 could start at around the Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. The electric SUV space is expected to have quite a few options in the coming years and the Mahindra BE.05 will rival the Hyundai Creta-based EV and Tata Curvv EV.
