• Q. I currently have a Suzuki DR 650 and I am looking at trading up to a Triumph Tiger 800. I am 189cm tall and a few tigers that I have looked at too low. What model should I be looking for?

Triumph has launched the Tiger 900 at a premium of Rs 30,700 over its predecessor - the 800. Triumph has upped the displacement on its middleweight Tiger with the inline three-cylinder engine now displacing 888cc. Max power remains the same at 95PS like the old motor but torque has seen a sizeable bump up to 87Nm, which is 8Nm more. The bike now offers better low- and mid-range response, top-spec adjustable suspension and Brembo Stylema calipers and engine’s new punchy characteristics. Moreover, the 870mm seat height may look a bit daunting on spec sheet but the bike is fairly manageable. For a better understanding of compatibility and riding comfort, we would suggest you to take a test ride. Xc variants

Own the XCx variant. Only downsides are the kerb weight, size and heat that is generated by the amazing triple engine. Love the acceleration in spite of its adv motorcycle tag. Rider and pillion comfort are amazing. The WP suspension was made for India. The XC variants are the more off road oriented Tigers which for me means Indian road conditions in general 😂. Great for monsoon conditions. Has a lot of different things - traction control, abs, suspension settings, preload, damping and rebound etc. Different rider modes. I don"t know anything about them. Ride it just the way it was delivered to me. 🙄. All in all a wonderful touring machine.
