Jawa 42 Latest Updates

Jawa has launched the new 42 with a bunch of design and hardware updates. Check out all the details in our launch story here.

Jawa 42 Key Highlights

Price: Jawa 42 2.1, with dual channel ABS will cost you Rs 1,96,142 for Orion Red and Sirius White colours and Rs 1,97,142 for the Allstar Black and Cosmic Carbon paint schemes (prices ex-showroom Delhi).

Design: The 42 2.1 is essentially a modern take on the Forty Two, and sports a round LED headlight and curvy body panels. It comes with an offset instrument console, a flat single-piece seat and its bar-end mirrors exude sportiness, and goes well with the all-black treatment of the underpinnings.

Features: In the latest iteration of the 42 2.1, the company has equipped the bike with an updated digital console and hazard lights as standard. The headlight and indicators are bulb-type units, to help keep the retro appeal flowing.

Engine: Powering the Jawa 42 2.1 is a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 294.72cc, OBD-2 compliant engine that produces 27.3PS and 26.84Nm. The engine also gets refinement updates, and is linked to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. The exhausts have been redesigned too. Braking on the Jawa 42 2.1 is done via 280mm front disc and a 240mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike is put together on a double-cradle frame, which is suspended by a telescopic front-fork and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers. It rolls on 18 inch front and 17 inch rear alloy wheels, which are wrapped in 90-section and 120-section tubeless tyres respectively. The bike weighs 172kg (kerb) and its seat height is 765mm, along with 165mm ground clearance.

Rivals: The Jawa 42 2.1 rivals the likes of the Benelli Imperial 400, Honda H'ness CB350 and the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. For a similar price, you could also consider buying the Bajaj Dominar 250 and the Royal Enfield Meteor 350.

Variants: The Jawa 42 2.1 is sold as a standard variant, in 4 distinct colours: Orion Red, Allstar Black, Sirius White and Cosmic Carbon. It i snow also available in four dual tone colour schemes -- Cosmic Rock, Infinity Black, Starship Blue, and Celestial Copper.

  • Hello All,Good Day!I bid

Hello all, Good day! i bid adieu to my jawa 42 bike last night, I had mixed opinions about 4, 5 years of ownership. The engine was good while on long drives and vibrations were fairly better when compared to 2019 re.Yes, At a moderate speed range of 80km to 100 km/hr.Style and looks were good, With a retro feel to the design and some nostalgic feel also.In my present situation, I rushed to purchase this beast very early and had to pay huge over to quality in manufacturing and materials used. Some of these user issues were the real reason to sell this out.1.Speedo meter - the offset design was good but the fuel gauge was never accurate.Missed out trip meter and some major concern to speedo meter mounting which slowly developed cracks and bound to fracture soon.2.Fuel pump/ lambda sensor- issue while running and suddenly stopped on the go, Self start was not responding despite having 75% fuel all this within 2 months of owning.3.The seat was not padded sufficiently and had to consider aftermarket additions that mostly looked very horrible.4.Headlights were not sufficient light throw while in dark areas and adding additional light fixtures was no option because of the excessive load on the battery which will reflect issues over self-start.5.No tubeless tiers- the bike was too bulky to handle in case of punchers and hardly could move at times.Poor service experience at showrooms.6.Rusting, A big factor to decide! the very next day of owning the bike i noticed the fuel tank was seen with air bubbles and paint issues which the company replaced with a new tank under warranty. The handlebar was bent and was not in line and was replaced under warranty (stored in bad order at the warehouse probably), The cone rubber was missing under the fork. The service person had missed adding a chain lock while on maintenance and the bike broke down while running, Both i and my wife were fortunate not to be at high speed or on the high way which otherwise needs no explanation. The silencer started to rust within one year of usage, Located in bengaluru and seeing this silencer rusting was a weird feeling, There are bikes on the road eg.Yamaha rx 100 over 20+ years and have no concerns about rusting. The replacement cost of new silencers was another 15k!the resale value out in the market is very bad and i sold this bike for a very low cost.I hold the vendors responsible and also jawa who have delivered bikes and substandard spare parts. On the whole, While i look back and around now the new jawa bike or for other make, I feel like a father to a premature baby!thank you.

The Jawa 42 All Star Black

The jawa 42 2.1 is a really cool and comfortable bike to ride.I have all star black.I love the matte finish. It feels great on the road and the seat is super comfy. The handlebars are in a perfect position for a comfortable riding experience and the footpegs are also placed nicely, Making it easy to find the right posture. One of the best things about this bike is how retro and stylish it looks. The blacked-out engine, Spoke wheels and vintage-inspired design make it a real head-turner.I get so many compliments on it wherever i go!that said, There are a few drawbacks to the jawa 42 all star black. The suspension can be a bit stiff, Making the ride a bit bumpy on rough roads. It's also a bit on the heavy side, Which can make it tricky to handle at low speeds. When it comes to performance, This bike doesn't disappoint. It's got a really good pickup and can handle city traffic with ease. The build quality is also really impressive - it's clear that a lot of attention to detail has gone into making this bike.In terms of features, The jawa 42 all star black comes with a bunch of useful things like a digital instrument cluster, Led lighting, And a single-channel abs. These features make the bike more convenient and safer to ride. Finally, When it comes to after-sale service, Jawa has a solid reputation for providing reliable service and support.I haven't had any issues with my bike so far, But i've heard from others that their service is top-notch.Overall, I would highly recommend the jawa 42 all star black to anyone looking for a stylish and comfortable bike that delivers great performance and solid build quality.

  • Bought jawa 42 2.1 a month

Bought jawa 42 2.1 a month ago and just gave it for the first service so just sharing my overall experience. The bike had some issues throttle issues as well as the engine cutoff issue, But it got fixed by the service centre by replacing some sensors for free.Overall jawa is a really great bike, The riding position is great and the look will make people ask you what bike it is.I have the all-star black variant. It is very necessary to get a backrest for the bike or it becomes very uncomfortable for the pillion rider to sit for a few mins also. The power and torque is great and i was easily able to touch 80-90.I haven't actually calculated mileage but i guess i'm getting somewhere between 28-30.A few things i didn't like is its very heavy so in steep cliffs or roads, It's very hard to pull it back. The first service cost approx 2k which is very costly for a free service.Accessories are a bit pricy in the showroom and it's hard to find in local shops.

    I have purchased Jawa 42.1

I have purchased jawa 42.1 recently having new dual tone cooper brown colour the bike is really good in performance however there are majorly two things which 1 engine heat2 mileagethough the engine has liquid coolant system to control heating ( which is necessary) however, The exhaust of coolant fan heat directly flow towards legs further, My driving is quiet decent ( not so much aggressive) though my average is approximately 20-25 kmpl in city30 kmpl at highwayor else if regarding the maintenance cost it will be approximately 2000-2500 rs per 6000km.It is high no doubt but with compare to royal field & other 300-350 cc bike it’s common as per my opinion. The bike is really good one can buy.Easy to handle, Easy to ride. Not so common like rehaving dual abs is also plus point.

    I am currently using this

I am currently using this bike it is very good for everyday commute but i feel like hawa did not give the features it have to give but gave some useless features like bike’s ignition wont work if the bike is on stand and also if we raise the accelerator fast bike will also stop not just that we don’t even have a digital meter also the speedometer is in reverse for some time it is difficulty to look and control speed of the bike if the police are ahead also the petrol indication is very difficult understand as it starts from 3/4 and ends at 1/4 there is no use for 0 and full expect for the these features bike is really good for commuting and it works very good no problem till now has been using since 4 months and completed over 800 km

Q. Is Jawa 42 comfortable for 5.1 height and 50kg weight?
  • The 765mm seat height of Jawa makes it supremely accessible for shorter riders. The bike's short-stroke, high-compression motor simply isn't meant for cruising. It revs hard and likes to be kept on the boil, attributes that are unlike any laidback cruiser. And that's what eats into the bike's charm. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride for a better understanding of performance and comfort. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
  • I’ll put it this way. Jawa is possibly the most powerful bike with low seat height, in the given price range. At 5’1”, I think you should still be able to toe on both sides. A good riding boot is recommended.
  • Yes, very comfortable, best for someone between 5 and 5.4. With balanced center of gravity 50kg person can handle it well. My son is 48kg with 5.7ft and he travels 500+ km in single day without handling problems.
