Tell Me About The Hyundai Alcazar's Looks!
- The Hyundai Alcazar stands out with its simple and premium design
- It looks a size-up compared to the Creta, especially in profile, thanks to the extra length18-inch alloy wheels and stylish roof rails give it a sporty, outdoorsy feel, though the roof rails are mostly cosmetic
- Dark chrome and silver accents on the bumpers and sides add to its elegant, understated styling
-
What's The Alcazar Like Inside?
- It shares the basic dashboard layout with the Creta but adds a tan and navy blue color scheme for a more premium vibe
- The dual 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and driver information are clear and easy to use
- Premium features like wireless charging, powered front seats with memory function for the driver, and ventilated front and rear seats add to its appeal
- The infotainment system still lacks wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity
-
Space Matters To Me
- The Alcazar excels at providing comfort, especially in the middle row
- Captain seats in the middle row are supportive and reclinable, making them ideal for long journeys
- They also come with an adjustable seat base, ensuring comfort for people of every size or height
- With the third row up, boot space is 180 litres, but folding it down expands the space to 579 litres, making it practical for family trips
- The third row is more suited for children or short trips, with limited legroom for adults
-
What Features Does The Hyundai Alcazar Offer?
- The Alcazar offers a comprehensive feature set, especially in its higher variants
- Highlights include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, rear-seat ventilation, wireless charging, and memory functions for the driver's seat
- The infotainment system is intuitive and snappy to use
- The touch-sensitive AC controls can be difficult to use while driving
- Lack of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is a huge miss for a car at this price
-
Safety Features Of The Hyundai Alcazar
- Hyundai has equipped the Alcazar with solid safety features
- Standard features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts
- Higher variants come with a 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor, and front parking sensors
- It also gets Level 2 ADAS, which is well-tuned for our erratic driving conditions
- The auto emergency braking system is not overly sensitive like in some competitor cars, and features like lane-keep assist work well even when the road isn’t properly marked
-
Will I Like Driving The Hyundai Alcazar?
- The Alcazar is available with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine
- The petrol comes either with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT, while the diesel gets a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic
- Both engines are refined and smooth, ideal for city driving and relaxed cruising, but they don’t offer the punch of rivals like the Mahindra XUV700, which has much larger and more powerful engines
- The petrol engine offers more than adequate performance for daily driving, while the diesel is efficient but not particularly quick
- Overall, the Alcazar focuses on comfort rather than sporty driving dynamics
-
Is It A Comfortable Car?
- Ride comfort is one of the Alcazar’s strengths, and it feels comfortable whether at city speeds or while cruising on the highway
- The suspension does feel a bit firm compared to the Creta, but it never feels uncomfortable
-
Who Should Buy The Hyundai Alcazar?
- The Hyundai Alcazar is perfect for families who want a feature loaded SUV which is comfortable and practical for its size
- It's ideal for those seeking a more premium alternative to the Creta, with added rear-seat comfort and space
- However, if you prioritize engine performance and a big car feel, there are better options at this price point
