As part of our campaign for this year’s NAIDOC collection, we put out a search for photographers to shoot the collection on Country with models of their choice. We are proud to showcase the talented Kerri Llewy-Allan, who used our clothing to create ADAPT - a showcase of conceptual and beautiful images. Kerri’s direction and the models’ interpretation of this infused the clothing with even more layers of beauty, vibrancy and cultural celebration.

WE ARE GOING

"Let no one say the past is dead.

The past is all about us and within.

Haunted by tribal memories, I know

This little now, the accidental present

Is not the all of me, whose long making

Is so much of the past."

- Oodgeroo Noonuccal

“For this photoshoot, I was inspired by this year's NAIDOC theme and wanted to conceptualise what “Keep the Fire Burning” means. This “fire” is one that is 65,000 years old; a fire that is as old as the Dreaming and lies at the heart of our people. This ancient fire carried by those before us has had to adapt to different worlds to overcome pain and trauma, while keeping our culture alive. This ancestral “fire” has become too powerful and too resilient to contain. For this photoshoot, I wanted to showcase and celebrate the vibrancy, versatility and adaptability of our mob through these pieces.

Always was, always will be BLAK, LOUD & PROUD! “ - Kerri

A SONG OF HOPE

"Look up, my people,

The dawn is breaking,

The world is waking

To a new bright day,

When none defame us,

No restriction tame us,

Nor colour shame us,

Nor sneer dismay."

- Oodgeroo Noonuccal
