Professor & Head, Department of Microbiology, Government Medical College & Hospital, Aurangabad

Professor Dr Jyoti is the Head of the Department of Microbiology at Government Medical College & Hospital, Aurangabad in India. She has been able to initiate the formation of MAHASAR (Maharashtra Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance) Network. MAHASAR has 18 laboratories from public and private sector which share the AST data monthly. This data gets submitted to GLASS.

Her expertise in WHONET and the laboratory techniques for AMR, FAO utilized her services as a facilitator in intercountry training on AMR in Bangkok, Thailand. In India She has mentored the INFAAR_ICAR trainings on WHONET and AST Techniques.

As a consultant to FAO, she developed the protocol for “Estimation of AMU at farm level in veterinary sector,” undertook its validation and trained several professionals in use of this protocol.

She is also a part of the technical committee of experts for Developing of National AMS (Antimicrobial stewardship guidelines and Training modules for healthcare facilities under NCDC and Technical expert for NARS-NET.

She is an experienced Ph.D. guide and had teaching experience of 29 years. She has extensive experience of working in multicultural and multi-ethnic environments.
