The Aico Ei3014 is a mains-powered linkable heat alarm with a 10-year rechargeable lithium battery back-up, which can power the alarm if there's a power cut. It’s designed to be fitted in a kitchen or a garage, places where traditional smoke alarms could be fooled by smoke from cooking or fumes from vehicles. It’s a linkable model that can be paired with the following Aico smoke alarms: Ei3014, Ei3016, Ei3021, Ei3028, Ei2110e, Ei161e, Ei164e, Ei166e, Ei141, Ei144 and Ei146. This makes it suitable for homes in Scotland following the 2022 law change. With this model you can also plug in the optional Ei3000MRF module for a wireless connection. This allows you to get real-time alerts or data reports using an app on your smartphone or tablet. It comes with a five-year warranty. But how well does this alarm detect rapid rises in heat, such as from a cooking fire? We tested it to find out. Read on for our full review of this Aico heat alarm.
