How to buy a Benchmarx kitchen

Benchmarx Sherwood grey kitchen
Benchmarx Sherwood grey kitchen

Like Howdens, Benchmarx only sell to tradespeople – you cannot buy a kitchen directly from the company.

You do not need to find an installer before you start designing your kitchen, but you will need to find one before you pay for and install your kitchen.

Benchmarx has the details of local installers, but they cannot recommend anyone directly to you.

The process of buying a kitchen is as follows:

  • Research your kitchen - Look through the kitchens offered by Benchmarx to get an idea of the styles you are interested in. You can either browse the ranges on the Benchmarx website, or visit your local branch to meet a designer and see the kitchens in person.
  • Measure up - Once you have an idea of the kitchen you want, you will need to measure your kitchen or use Benchmarx's free home survey service.
  • Time to design - Book a free online or in-person design consultation to design your kitchen.
  • Install your kitchen - Benchmarx will work with your installer to find a time to deliver your kitchen.

Benchmarx design services

There's a free online kitchen visualiser tool, as well as a free design service with online or in-store appointments.

Benchmarx will also carry out an in-home survey to check the measurements for your kitchen, if you're comfortable with this.

Does Benchmarx fit kitchens?

Benchmarx is a trade kitchen supplier, which means it sells to tradespeople only. Therefore, you cannot fit the kitchen yourself.

Benchmarx also does not recommend installers, so you will need to find one yourself, although Benchmarx can guide you through the process.

How much does it cost to fit a Benchmarx kitchen?

To find out how much the average kitchen installation costs in 2024, we consulted the Building Cost Information Service (BCIS) database.

They estimate labour rates based on the current Building and Allied Trades Joint Industrial Council wage agreement and a model of the average kitchen.

They told us that the total cost of labour should be 20-30% of your total spend. Fitting a bespoke kitchen costs 20-35% more than fitting a standard kitchen.
