This John Lewis Black Friday sale round-up only includes products we know performed well in our test lab and are offered at a genuinely good discount. Best deals in the John Lewis sale

John Lewis is offering discounts across pretty much all of its departments including:

The following offers are the best we've seen in the John Lewis sale so far. But plenty of stores price-match for Black Friday - so we've included prices at other retailers, too.

Zanussi ZWF942E3PW

* Average price in the past six months: £414. Cheapest price in the last six months: £329

Zanussi ZWF942E3PW
  • Freestanding
  • 9kg cottons capacity
  • White

We like: Handy tone to indicate end of wash

We don't like: Sensitive buttons

This is a good-sized machine with a 9kg capacity for cottons and 4kg for synthetics. It has 14 programs including eco 40-60, a 14-minute refresh and a 30-minute rapid wash, as well as cotton and synthetic washes. Its maximum spin speed is 1400rpm and there is a time remaining display, delay start and a child lock. There's also an easy iron feature to help prevent creases.

Bosch WGB256A1GB

* Average price in the past six months: £1,020. Cheapest price in the last six months: £883

Bosch WGB256A1GB
  • Freestanding
  • 10kg cottons capacity
  • White

We like: Automatic detergent dosing

We don't like: Could be quieter

The WGB256A1GB is a 10kg capacity washing machine with a 1,400rpm spin cycle and a child lock. Its wash programs include cottons, easy care (for synthetics) and sportswear, as well as 15 or 30-minute rapid programs.

Bosch’s Home Connect smart technology means you can control and monitor the machine remotely, and its AquaStop option offers leak protection, stopping the cycle when a leak is detected.

This model is currently priced at £899 from JC Campbell Electrics, but also compare this with the prices from other retailers below.

Asus ZenBook 14 UX3402ZA

Average price in the past six months: £854. Cheapest price in the past six months: £650

Asus ZenBook 14 UX3402ZA laptop
  • Intel Ultra 5 processor
  • 16GB Ram
  • 512GB SSD

We like: Slim and lightweight

We don't like: Full HD webcam a bit dim

This is a very slim, portable 14" laptop weighing just 1.35kg, and its striking feature is its bright OLED display (like on high-end TVs) with 90Hz refresh rate, making everything super-smooth.

Despite its compact size, it's managed to fit in one full-sized USB port, two USB-Cs (which are also used for the cabled power supply), a HDMI output, Micro-SD card slot and 3.5mm headphone/mic socket.

Check out our Asus ZenBook 14 UX3402ZA review for full details to see if this is the right model for you.

It's currently on a deal price of £650 at John Lewis. You can compare this with other retailers' prices below (click through to find the John Lewis deal price).

HP Pavilion 16-af0002na

* Average price in the past six months: £927. Cheapest price in the past six months: £780

HP Pavilion 16-af0002na laptop
  • Intel Ultra 7 processor
  • 16GB of Ram
  • 16-inch screen

We like: Lots of ports

We don't like: Screen could be better

This is a powerful, large laptop with sufficient specs – including 16GB Ram – to future-proof it for years to come.

Its giant 1TB SSD should mean you don't have to worry about running out of storage space. It weighs 1.72kg, making it reasonably portable to carry around, despite its larger screen.

Read our expert review of the HP Pavilion 16-af0002na to see if it meets your needs.

Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (2020)

* Average price in the past six months: £954. Cheapest price in the past six months: £700

Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (2020) laptop
  • Apple M1 processor
  • 8GB Ram
  • 256GB storage

We like: Thin and light

We don’t like: Not many ports

The MacBook Air is thinner, lighter and cheaper than the MacBook Pro, but it also has a smaller battery and no cooling fan to keep the processor performing at its best when working full pelt on intensive tasks.

What really stands out is just how portable this 13-inch 2020 MacBook Air is – it weighs less than 1.3kg. Specifications-wise, there’s an Apple M1 processor on board, 8GB of Ram and 256GB of SSD storage, so it should be fast enough for most day-to-day tasks.

While it's been superseded by newer MacBook Airs, this new discounted price makes it a cracking deal.

Read our Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (2020) review for the results of our in-depth lab testing.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro

* Average price in the past six months: £570. Cheapest price in the past six months: £449

Motorola Edge 50 Pro

  • 6.7-inch OLED screen
  • Triple rear camera system
  • IP68 dust and water-resistance rating

We like Generous storage

We don’t like Face recognition fooled by photograph in Which? testing

Flagship phones from the likes of Apple, Samsung and Google are advertised everywhere. Motorola produces a powerful flagship range too, but it's not as well known. Topping the bill for 2024 is the Edge 50 Pro with accomplished camera specifications and a high-resolution screen.

A rare selling point is its fast charging capabilities; Motorola claims the provided 125W charger can fully this phone it in just 18 minutes.

See the cheapest deals we've found below and read our Motorola Edge 50 Pro review to see how fast its charging really is. You can compare contract deals too.

Apple iPad 2022

* Average price in the past six months: £386. Cheapest price in the past six months: £304

Apple iPad 2022 showing the two bottom speaker grilles and power button. The screen shows four rows of apps
  • 10.9-inch screen
  • A14 processor and 4GB of Ram
  • 2,360 x 1,640-pixels display

We like: Great screen

We don’t like: Bass can get lost

This 2022 version of the iPad has a 10.9-inch, 1,640 x 2,360-pixels display screen – which is better than HD. The version we tested has a 64GB hard drive, but there’s also a 256GB model available. You can’t expand the memory in any way, so make sure you buy one that has enough for your needs.

The iPad has 4GB of Ram and the A14 Bionic Chip – the same chip that powers the iPhone 12 range. But how did it measure up against the opposition in our lab tests?

Read our expert Apple iPad 2022 64GB wi-fi review to find out if it's right for you.

Lenovo Tab M9

* Average price in the past six months: £117. Cheapest price in the past six months: £81

Lenovo Tab M9 in black
  • 8.9-inch screen
  • 3GB of Ram
  • 32GB of storage

We like: Runs quickly

We didn't like: Hard drive is too small, so you'll need to buy a micro-SD card

There's strong competition at the entry-level end of the market, including solid options from Amazon and Samsung. This means tablets such as this M9 need to be good to stand out.

It doesn't have the best specs on paper, but that doesn't always tell the whole story – which is why we leave no stone unturned when testing every tablet.

Read our Lenovo Tab M9 review to see if it's worth your money.

When did the John Lewis 2024 sale start?

Shoppers on escalators in John Lewis

This year, John Lewis kicked off its sale from 1 November. But because Black Friday falls much later than it did in 2024 (Black Friday is on 29 November and Cyber Monday on 2 December) it means the John Lewis sale will last a whole month.

That also means there is plenty of time to shop, so there's  really no need to panic buy this year (or any year).

See Currys Black Friday sale and Boots Black Friday sale to find out more about their sales.
