We like: It's quiet
We don't like: It weighs 8kg, which is heavy but not unusual for a large dual model
Unlike many other air fryers that are made from plastic, the outside of this one is covered in stainless steel. It measures 31 x 42 x 40cm (H x W x D).
Easy Fry Dual has two different sized drawers – a large drawer with a capacity of 5.2 litres and a smaller has a capacity of 3.1 litres, according to Tefal.
The digital display allows you to switch between six auto programs: fries, chicken, vegetables, fish, dessert and dehydrate. If you’re not a fan of those, you can adjust the temperature manually.

We like: The eight cooking programs, reheat and keep-warm functions
We don't like: It doesn't have a viewing window
This basket-type model from Cosori weighs around 4.5kg and has a 1.2kg capacity, which is generous for a single air fryer.
Besides its eight cooking modes, it also has an adjustable thermostat, a timer and an audio signal that indicates the end of a cycle. The digital touch display allows you to control the programs, and includes a time and temperature display, program status indicator and warning display.
It measures 31 x 27 x 38cm (HxWxD) and comes with a two-year warranty.

We like: It's easy to use
We don't like: It's awkward to clean
This dual-zone air fryer from Philips comes with two removable drawers to accommodate your food, one larger than the other.
The digital display allows you to switch between eight auto programs, to help take the guesswork out of dinner.
You can use the two cooking zones separately, or you can use the Copy function to set the same cooking time and temperature for both.

We like: Easy to clean
We don't like: Large size makes it difficult to store
This large air fryer has two cooking drawers, which each hold 3.8 litres, for a total capacity of 7.6 litres. Each drawer can run its own program and timings, and if you want, you can press the sync button so that your food is ready to serve up at the same time.
To help you get started, it comes with six automatic programs: max crisp, air fry, roast, reheat, dehydrate and bake.

We like: The dishwasher-safe parts
We don't like: It's not very energy efficient
This digital-display air fryer from Ninja has four pre-set functions and a 3.8-litre capacity. You can also manually cook, choosing from variable heat settings between 40°C and 210 °C.
The box includes a crisper plate and a ‘Cook & Crisp’ rack, both of which are dishwasher safe.

* Average price in the past six months: £202. Cheapest price in the past six months: £150.
We like: It's easy to clean
We don't like: It uses more energy than others
This air fryer has a total capacity of 9.5 litres, split between two 4.75-litre drawers. When it is completely full, Ninja says it can feed around eight people.
Each drawer can run its own program and timings, and there’s a useful sync function that ensures the food in both drawers is ready to serve up at the same time. It does this by starting the slower program first, so both timers hit zero simultaneously.

If you're looking to replace an ageing air fryer by shopping in the sales, make sure you dispose of your old one in the correct way.
There are plenty of ways you can offload your unwanted appliances. One option is kerbside collection for small electrical items – in many cases, your local council will collect smaller items such as toasters and kettles. Alternatively, you can drop items at a local recycling centre or hand them over to retailers that have their own recycling schemes.
