Finding the best Lego deals September 2024

With thousands of sets, there's often a chance that Lego will have a deal on somewhere. We've found the best deals on sets from popular ranges including Marvel, Technic, Disney, Star Wars, Friends, and Harry Potter — as well as adult sets, and own-brand lines such as City and Creator.

With almost countless sets and a huge range of lines, it can be hard to know where to start when it comes to Lego deals. This month, we've spotted several deals on popular sets from John Lewis – including modular buildings, adult sets, and Star Wars collectible sets.

While we can't promise to cover every single sale item, we'll be looking out for great discounts across the most popular lines over the past 12 months.

At the moment, most Lego deals can be found on Amazon, Argos, Smyth's Toys and Very. They'll often sell Lego sets cheaper than on Lego's own website.

Should I buy direct from Lego?

You can find some discounts direct from Lego, but it's still one of the more expensive options. You can see which sets have been discounted on Lego's website.

Lego isn't cheap – to make or to buy. While you can generally get sets cheaper by buying from other retailers, there are still perks to picking up your pieces from Lego itself. 

Sometimes when you order directly from the Lego store (either online or in person), you'll get a small bonus set when you spend past a certain threshold or buy a certain set. We've picked out sets with significant or new discounts from Lego's most popular ranges.

We looked at the price history of each set, total discounts and cost per brick to bring you deals that we genuinely believe to be good value.

As a general rule of thumb, paying 9p per brick/part is a pretty typical price for Lego. Branded and franchised Lego sets like Star Wars, Disney, Mario, Marvel, and Harry Potter tend to be a bit more expensive – at around 10 to 11p per brick. Lego's own-branded set lines that don't use as many set-specific parts like Icons, Ideas, Classic, Modular buildings, and Creator – will tend to cost around 6 to 7p per brick. 

 Top deals on Star Wars Lego

• Boarding the Tantive IV 75387 — £39: It's a 500+ piece diorama that features the iconic first scene from A New Hope, where Darth Vader captures Princess Leia (who sadly, isn't included in this set). Recreate the opening fight between Rebel Alliance troops and Empire forces – including extra transparent pieces to force-choke poor Raymus Antilles, the captain of the Tantive IV. Since it's a 25th-anniversary Lego Star Wars set, there's a bonus arc clone trooper minifigure, too. Compare prices on this deal below:

• Yavin 4 Rebel Base 75365 — £102: This large playset is back on sale after a brief stint of being full price. It comes with several iconic Star Wars heroes decked out in the ceremonial medals they got after blowing up the Death Star in A New Hope. It was on sale from Lego months ago over 'May the Fourth', but the best deal currently is to pick it up from Amazon. You can also compare prices below: 

• Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon 75192 — £542: While it's still more expensive than some of our Best Buy refrigerators, this is an impressive discount on one of Lego's largest ever sets. It's not the cheapest we've seen it, but it's still a great price. It comes with 7,541 pieces, and is roughly the size of a coffee table once built. We saw it close to its cheapest price ever at Amazon. You can compare prices below:

 Great deals on Harry Potter Lego

• Hedwig at 4 Privet Drive 76425 — £13: It's not the largest set, but you'll get a poseable figure of Harry Potter's owl perched atop the street sign where the Dursleys live. You'll also get a chest of Potter's mementos. You can pick up this deal below from a few different retailers:

• Dobby the House-Elf Figure 76421 — £19: We've seen it go for a few pounds cheaper, but you can still score this popular figurine for a discount. It's currently cheapest from Amazon and Very. Compare prices below:

• Hogwarts Castle and Grounds 76419 — £110: This miniaturised version of the iconic wizarding school is still packed with loads of detail, and features small scenes from each of the instalments of the books and movies. It might be a diorama, but it still has over 2,600 pieces. We've seen it go for slightly cheaper in previous months, but this is still a good price on this popular set. You can pick it up below:

 Deals on Marvel Lego

• The New Guardians' Ship 76255 – £59: Modelled after the spaceship from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, this set includes iconic characters like Star Lord, Mantis, and Drax. It also comes with a stand so it doesn't topple over when landed. You can get this discount at Zavvi.

• Spider-Man: Final Battle 76261 – £67: Featuring one of the last battle scenes in Spider-Man: No Way Home, this set comes with three different Spideys as he was played in each generation of Spider-Man movies. It comes with 990 pieces. We've seen it cheaper a few months ago, but you can compare prices below:

 Deals on Lego Friends sets

It's typical to see lots of sets from the Friends line at a discount. However, most of these deals aren't that great: they've had these discounts – or have been even cheaper – over the last six months.

We've picked deals that we believe are the best below:

• Sports Center 41744 — £59: Clocking in at 832 pieces, this set is absolutely jam-packed with play features like a swappable sports pitch, a climbing wall, plus gym equipment. You'll get four minidolls, who can enter friendly competitions for a trophy. You can pick up this set below: 

• Heartlake City Community Centre 41748 — £100: This four-storey set comes with six minidolls, rearrangeable levels, and loads of play features like a slide and stage. You can pick up this deal from Amazon, where it's currently cheapest – even if this isn't the best price we've seen on it. Compare prices below:

 Great deals on Lego Technic sets

Technic sets don't always have the best deals. While you can generally get them cheaper from third-party retailers, the sets seem to have a permanent 'reduced' sticker on them despite not seeing huge reductions.

After several months of limited deals, we've finally seen a few good discounts appear:

• Kawaski Ninja H2R 42170 – £52: While it isn't as speedy as the real deal, it's got lots of details faithful to this sports bike. Compare prices below:

• Ferrari Daytona SP3 42143 — £292: Most of us don't have £2 million to spend on a sports car, but luckily you can pick up this 3,778-piece set for way, way less. It's a 1:8 scale replica of the real car, has a gearbox, an engine with moving pistons, and — of course — the butterfly doors. Compare prices:

 Deals on Lego Ninjago sets

We've compared dozens of deals on Ninjago sets, but once again this deal is the only one we've found worth highlighting. While many are still cheaper than buying direct from Lego, most sets on sale have either been at that price for months – or been cheaper.

• Elemental Dragon vs. The Empress Mech 71796 – £64: Featuring an upgradable dragon with golden wings, this 1,038-piece set comes with two large figurines that can battle it out over the included dragon core element. You'll get six minifigures and a tiny baby dragon. You can pick up this bargain from Zavvi, where we saw it cheapest.

 Great deals on Disney Lego

• Moana's Wayfinding Boat 43210 – £20: Featuring two princess minidolls and a dolphin, this catamaran inspired by the film sports a small cabin, plus a set of drums. It's £3 more expensive than the cheapest we've seen it previously (£19), but this is the best discount on the set since Black Friday. Compare prices below:

• 'Up' House 43217 – £35: It might not have as many balloons as the iconic multicoloured flying house does in the movie, but this set can have extra pieces added. You'll get minifigures of Russell and Carl, plus a moulded Dug and Squirrel. We saw it £3 cheaper a few months ago – but it's still saving you £10. You can compare prices below:

 Deals on Lego Icons and Adult sets

• Bonsai Tree 10281 — £33: This model tree looks great on shelves, and comes with interchangeable pink leaves (made using just over 100 pink frogs) so it can bloom. Compare prices below: 

• Orchid 10311 — £35: Despite being beautiful, real orchids can be difficult to take care of and only bloom every once in a while. This ever-blooming orchid has kept its winter discount from Amazon. Although it's cheaper than previous months, it's still not the cheapest we've seen it. That said, it's still a good deal on a popular set. You can compare prices below:

• Flower Bouquet 10280 — £40: It's not the cheapest we've seen this gorgeous buildable faux bouquet go for, but it's a decent saving. You can compare prices below:

• Bouquet of Roses 10328 – £44: This best-selling flower set has been slightly discounted so you can build it with a loved one (or save it for yourself). We saw it cheapest at Amazon and Very, but you can compare prices below:

• Hokusai – The Great Wave 31208 — £67: Modelled after the world-famous painting, this sought-after set will have you building your own artwork. It was £7 cheaper last month, but it's still a good enough deal to make our cut. You can compare prices from retailers below:

• BTS Dynamite 21339 – £63: This fan-designed set features each member the K-Pop group as a minifigure, and has several play features pulled straight from the music video. There's even a detachable stage that allows all of the figures to 'dance'. You can pick up this deal below: 

• Tranquil Garden 10315 – £74: Featuring an interchangeable design so you can rearrange the plants, this set features 1,363 pieces to make up a Japanese-inspired garden. This is close to the cheapest we've seen this go for, and you can pick up this deal below:

• Atari 2600 10306 – £162: You can pick up this Icons set modelled after the retro games console for a small discount. It's on sale from Zavvi. 
• The Mighty Bowser 71411 – £170: This large, fully poseable statue of Mario's nemesis makes another appearance in this month's deals roundup. We've seen it go for slightly cheaper in the past, but it's a great deal on this 2,807-piece set. We saw it cheapest at Very and Amazon, but you can compare prices below:

 Best deals on other Lego sets

• Interstellar Spaceship 60430 – £13: It's not the biggest discount, but coming in at just over 5p per brick, it's a bargain from Lego City's newer 'Space' lineup of sets. You'll get the spaceship, a drone, and an astronaut to zip around the blocky stars. You can pick it up below: 

• Argos: 2 for £20: With sets from lines like City, Disney, and Technic, you can save up to £16 on little sets. There isn't a huge selection, but it's a great deal on Lego.
• Argos: 2 for £30: Similar to the deal above, you can save money on smaller sets from lines like City and Marvel. There isn't a massive selection of Lego sets but it's still a worthwhile deal.

While we can't put a firm number on how much a set is typically discounted, there are usually several on sale throughout the year, so we'll keep an eye out and update this page with the best deals we find.

You'll typically find most deals from third-party retailers instead of Lego themselves. While you'll usually get some extra goodies thrown in when you buy direct, it may not be worth the the extra savings.
