Whether you're after a new PS5 or game, we've scoured the current pickings to bring you the best discounts on the PlayStation 5 in November.

With Black Friday season upon us and the launch of the PlayStation 5 Pro today, we're expecting to see some great deals on other PS5 models soon. We spotted some last week, but sadly those aren't available any more. We'll keep looking though, so watch this space.

Along with checking whether the deal is the cheapest it's been in the past six months, we're also keeping an eye on so called 'bundle deals', which may not be quite the saving they first appear, given that the games that are bundled into it are often discounted separately.

Also, be sure to check out our top five choices on game deals. There are great deals on games like Elden Ring, the Yakuza series, and more.

Our pick: PlayStation 5 Slim

Average price in the last six months: £466.25

Cheapest Price in the last six months: £409.00

Watch out for: Make sure you have a TV to play it on – why not check out one of our best TV deals?

Last week we spotted some good deals on the regular PS5 Slim as Black Friday season kicked into gear – sadly, those were short-lived. Hopefully we'll see some good ones start to pop up later this week as the Pro hit shelves. Keep checking this page, as we'll be updating it frequently.

The best deal available right now is available from a few different retailers, even if it's not the most impressive bargain.

  • Six months of Apple music — free: It's not so much a PS5 deal, but more a deal that's on the PS5 if you catch our drift. Owners of any PS5 console can get six months of Apple Music for free if they're a new subscriber to the streaming service. This saves you £66 on half a year of Apple's popular service. Just keep in mind that this deal ends on 15 November. You can find out more on the PlayStation website.

Best PlayStation 5 Pro deals

The PlayStation 5 Pro has hit shelves and is now available to order in the UK. This upgraded PS5 has a larger GPU, 2TB storage, improved ray-tracing, and features 'AI-powered' upscaling.

It costs £700, but notably doesn't come with a disc drive – meaning you'll need to shell out another £100 (or nab one from a PS5 Slim) if you want to play your physical games.

While it's available from several retailers, we haven't spotted any money off one yet. Be sure to read our buying advice below to see whether we think it's worthwhile picking up.

Best PlayStation 5 bundle Black Friday deals 2024

There are lots of bundle 'deals' out there, but many of the available bundles aren't worth the price unless you're after all of the included games. Even then, you're often only saving £10. You're usually better off buying the console, then trying to get games separately at a discount.

There are a few bundles that are worth considering at the moment, however.

Our pick: PS5 Slim + 24 months of PlayStation Plus Premium

Average price in the last six months: £679.00

Cheapest Price in the last six months: £629.98

We like: One of the few bundles available that saves you money

Watch out for: Almost as expensive as a PS5 Pro

Despite the high price tag, this is currently one of the better deals out there. You'll be saving £18 on a PlayStation 5 and a PlayStation Plus subscription if you bought both separately and paid annually for the subscription (which is about a month and a half free).

If you instead paid monthly over those two years, you'd be paying an extra £102 if you didn't get the bundle.

What do I need to know before buying a PlayStation 5?

The biggest question to ask when buying any games console is how you'll primarily be using it and what kinds of games you want to play.

PlayStation 5s are powerful consoles that get most new releases, and have plenty of exclusive launches. They require a TV or external screen to play on though, and are among the most expensive of current generation consoles.

You can read our advice on buying a PlayStation to find out everything you need to know before purchasing.

Is the PS5 Pro available in the UK?

Sony's newest souped-up PlayStation model hit shelves on 7 November 2024, and is now available from most major retailers.

Sony claims that the PS5 Pro has improved rendering abilities, more graphical prowess, faster Ram, better ray-tracing, and 'AI-powered' upscaling. This is all reflected in the eye-wateringly expensive price tag of £700. This is without a disc drive, too, meaning you'll need to dosh out an extra £100 if you want one.

There's also a 30th anniversary PS5 Pro bundle and accessories – these special edition consoles, controllers, and Portals are decorated in classic PS1 grey with coloured highlights of the iconic buttons. Even the charging cables for the Dualsense controllers are reminiscent of vintage PS1 cables.

The dressed up consoles and controllers may look great, but we nearly started sobbing when we saw the price tag – £960. For that, you'll get the special edition console, Dualsense controller, a Dualsense Edge controller, plus a myriad of accessories – including a PlayStation paperclip. Again, no disc drive included. Bizarrely enough, you do get a matching cover for it though.

Sadly, there are only 12,300 of these consoles being sold worldwide, and they appear to currently be sold out.

Should you buy a Playstation 5 Pro?

Despite it's substantially higher price tag, the PS5 Pro doesn't come with a disc drive. You'll need to shell out an extra £100 for one, so if you want to play your physical PS5 and PS4 games you'd need to spend £800 total.

We'd typically recommend picking up secondhand physical versions of games, as that tends to save you more money than buying digital copies from the PlayStation store. Without a disc drive though, the savings aren't as immediate.

For now, we'd recommend holding off on buying a PS5 Pro – check out the Slim instead. It might not have all the fancy bells and whistles, but it's still a force to be reckoned with in terms of computing power. It also helps that it's over £200 cheaper, and comes with a disc drive.

How much is one year of PlayStation Plus

It depends on which subscription you get. There are three types of monthly subscription: Essential, Extra and Premium. Here's what the savings look like for each subscription if you pay every three months or annually:

SubscriptionMonthly costQuarterly costAnnual cost
Essential£6.99£19.99 (savings: 98p)£59.99 (savings: £23.89)
Extra£10.99£31.99 (savings: 98p)£99.99 (savings: £31.89)
Premium£13.49£39.99 (savings: 48p)£119.99 (savings: £41.89)

You can view the full breakdown of what each plan has to offer on PlayStation's website.

How to get the best PS5 deals

  1. Know what a good deal looks like: while a PS5 and a game for £480 can seem underwhelming, it can still save you up to £60 on the cost of a new game. These are the most common kinds of deals and have a wide variety of games that they include.
  2. Keep an eye on bundles: they can be a great way to save some money on games and accessories you might get later down the line. Some retailers will bundle controllers and games with consoles, so we'd recommend keeping an eye out for console bundles with games you'll want to play. A good rule of thumb when shopping bundles is to subtract the price by £480, then compare prices on the games included vs. buying them separately. With the console getting a Black Friday discount, this can get a bit more fuzzy. We'd recommend taking the cheapest prices, adding them together, and seeing how much money you save – it might be worth picking things up separately.
  3. Save this page: our experts will be scouring thousands of PS5 deals to help you save money. We'll also be looking at Nintendo Switch and Xbox deals, TV deals, and more.
  4. Consider buying second hand: we've found that you can make hefty savings when buying a new console with a disc reader and games second-hand. You can check out online sellers like CeX, MusicMagpie, and Game, who all have good stocks of second hand PS5 games.
