We've scoured retailers to find the best prices for games, Nintendo Switch OLED and Nintendo Switch Lite, as well as dissecting whether bundle deals are as good as they seem.

Best Nintendo Switch deals September 2024

The best deal at the moment is £50 off of a Switch OLED, which you can pick up below.

If you've been keeping your eyes on this page over the last few months, you may recognise some of these deals already – truth is, they're still the best ones out there currently. 

 Nintendo Switch deals

• Nintendo Switch (Neon Blue/Red) + Nintendo Switch Sports + 3-Month membership of Nintendo Switch Online – £260: This Switch bundle is around the cost of a new console, but it saves you £38 by including a game and three months of Nintendo's online membership so you can play online multiplayer. It's a pretty old deal, but it's still one of the best ones for the regular Switch. It's starting to be discontinued from most retailers, but you can still pick it up from Nintendo.
• Nintendo Switch (Neon Blue/Red) + either Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – £280: It's not the biggest bargain out there, but you'll be saving up to £20 on one of two Mario games when you buy this bundle deal from Smyth's Toys.

• Nintendo Switch Lite (Yellow) – £178: There aren't many great Nintendo Switch Lite deals on at the moment, but one of the best available right now is a Switch Lite for £29 off from Amazon. You can compare prices below:

• Nintendo Switch OLED (Neon Red and Blue) – £270: It's just £10 off from the cheapest we've ever seen a Switch OLED go for, so this is a great deal on a new console. You can pick it up from Amazon where it's currently cheapest. You can also compare prices below:

There are plenty of games that are on sale every week. We've broken down some of the best Switch game deals we've found this month. You can also take a look the Nintendo Switch eShop deals page if you'd rather pick up digital versions of games.

Nintendo Switch game bundle deals

• The Game Collection – two games for £15: There are just over two dozen games to choose from in this deal, with some of the notable ones being Hokko Life, Nickelodeon Kart Racers, and Vampire: The Masquerade. You'll be saving upwards of £7 depending on which games you get.

• Game – two games for £20: There are several options to choose from including Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Rayman Legends, Assassin's Creed, Borderlands, and more. Total savings are upwards of £20, making it the best bundle deal at the moment.

Nintendo Switch popular game deals

It's not super common for games from Nintendo franchises like Pokemon, the Legend of Zelda, or Mario to be discounted, but hundreds of third-party games typically are.

This month, we haven't found loads of notable games on sale. However, we've rounded up a few decent ones on popular games.

• Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – £12: It's the most recent Lego Star Wars game, and you can play across each of the Star Wars trilogies reimagined in Lego bricks. You can play as your favourite characters either alone, or cooperatively with a friend locally. You can snag this deal from the Nintendo eShop.

• Kingdom Come Deliverance (Royal Edition) – £32: This challenging game takes place in medieval Bohemia, and despite being an RPG it's very much grounded in reality. You'll need to make careful decisions, suffer the consequences of your actions, and avenge the death of your family. You can compare prices below:

• A new Nintendo Switch typically costs £259.99 from the Nintendo Store

• A Switch OLED is a bit more expensive, usually costing around £309.99 from the Nintendo Store

• A Switch Lite is the cheapest option and will typically set you back £199.99 from the Nintendo Store

What is the difference between a Nintendo Switch, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite?

• The Nintendo Switch is the base model of Switch. It comes with a dock you can use to play games on your TV and outputs to 1080p. You can use it as a handheld, as a TV console or propped up on a table using the built-in kickstand. It comes with 32 gigabytes of internal storage.
• Think of the OLED model as a souped-up Switch. The Switch OLED differs from the other models by having a seven-inch OLED screen. It has better speakers, more internal storage, a more adjustable kickstand and can be hooked up to a wired ethernet through its dock. It still outputs at 1080p onto TVs, like the regular Switch. 
• The Switch Lite is a Switch that's more focused on the handheld capabilities of the console. It's the cheapest but it has a smaller screen, can't connect to TVs and doesn't come with a dock like the other two models. It comes with 32 gigabytes of internal storage. 

All Switch models can have their storage expanded with a mirco-SD card to fit two terabytes of games.

What do I need to know before buying a Nintendo Switch? 

The biggest question to ask when buying any games console is how you'll primarily be using it and what kinds of games you'll want to play.

If you travel a lot and want something portable, a Nintendo Switch could be a great option. It's also the most budget-friendly major console, with the cheapest model – the Switch Lite – costing under £200, compared to Microsoft's Xbox Series S (£250), and Sony's PlayStation 5 digital (£390). Both the Xbox and PlayStation require a TV or computer monitor to game on, too. 

Nintendo gets most new releases, has a wide catalogue of their own exclusive titles, has thousands of indie games, plus older games are remade or ported over to be released on the console. 

The Switch offers an all-in-one gaming solution and a lot of options for most types of gamers. However, if you're looking to play the newest Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege, or Valorant, you might be better off with a PlayStation or Xbox, as those games aren't on Switch.

Like other consoles, you'll need to pay extra for an online multiplayer subscription, which costs £18 a year.

What games are available on Nintendo Switch?

Nintendo is well-known for their exclusive games and franchises like Mario, Kirby, Splatoon, Fire Emblem, the Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Metroid, and Animal Crossing.

You can find most games on a Nintendo Switch these days, including more mature titles like BioShock, older Grand Theft Auto games, The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption, and several Assassin's Creed titles. There are also competitive online multiplayer titles like Overwatch 2, Fortnite, and Apex Legends. Plus classic multiplayer games such as Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., Warioware, and Mario Party.

Most new releases are available on Switch, although due to the console's less powerful hardware, the Switch versions of newer games may not look as good as their console or PC counterparts so they're not as computationally demanding on the handheld.

How to recycle your old Nintendo tech

If you're upgrading from another console to a new Nintendo Switch, you might be wondering what to do with the old one.

Nintendo's advice on how to dispose of your old Nintendo consoles is to check where your nearest recycling point is with your local authority and take it there to be recycled, along with any other electronics you no longer need or want.

Electronics such as Nintendo games consoles cannot be disposed of in your general household waste or kerbside recycling.
