The 2021 Florida Legislature passed CS/CS/SB 1108 - Education. This legislation requires the character development curriculum for 11th and 12th grade public school students to include instructions on voting using the uniform primary and general election ballot. The 10-minute video is a curricular resource to provide instruction on Florida’s primary and general elections and the uniformity in ballot design.
This program was established to encourage voter participation and help remind citizens about the countless sacrifices of our Veterans. Nassau County is home to many brave men and women who fought to protect our freedoms that are often taken for granted, including our right to vote. Our democracy is possible thanks to the service and sacrifice of our Veterans and active duty service members. By exercising our right to vote, we show them the respect they deserve for protecting our freedoms. The next time you vote, we encourage you to Vote in Honor of a Veteran.
Our Agency would like to recognize the men and women who have honorably served in the United States Military, whether in peacetime or wartime, past or present. Nassau County Veterans and family members or friends (with their consent) may participate by filling out the
Veteran biography form at the link below.
