Vote.org, Snap Inc. Partner to Launch Voter Engagement Tool Ahead of 2024 Election

Last updated on April 22, 2024

INDIANAPOLIS – Today Vote.org, the largest nonpartisan voter registration and get-out-the-vote platform in America, announced a major partnership with Snap Inc. to make voter engagement and registration as easy as possible for millions of Snapchatters. The organizations are teaming up to launch a user-friendly in-app tool to provide Snapchatters with a one-stop shop to check their registration status, register to vote, sign up for election reminders, and make a plan for Election Day – all without leaving the app.

“This innovative partnership will be a game-changer, helping us reach millions of new voters on a platform they trust during this critical election year,” said Andrea Hailey, CEO of Vote.org. “At Vote.org, our mission is to meet voters exactly where they are so that everyone can make their voices heard at the ballot box. We have a major opportunity to cut through disinformation and connect more Americans with reliable, nonpartisan information to register and to vote. Snapchat’s commitment to encouraging civic engagement exemplifies how technology companies can step up to strengthen our democracy, and we’re grateful for their strong partnership.”

"Snapchat was designed to help people express themselves, and we’ve always believed that civic engagement is one of the most powerful forms of self-expression,” said Jennifer Stout, VP of Global Public Policy at Snap Inc. “We’re excited to work with Vote.org to provide Snapchatters with the tools and information they need to make their voices heard this election season.”

Leveraging its uniquely sophisticated and trusted non-partisan online voter tools, Vote.org is powering some of the most wide-reaching and innovative voter engagement campaigns in the nation. In 2022 alone, across all its platforms, Vote.org reached voters 270 million times – and the organization has already registered nearly 500,000 voters to date in the 2024 cycle.

Between now and Election Day, voters across America will rely on Vote.org for the trusted information and tools they need to register and cast their vote. By partnering with high-profile organizations like Snapchat, Vote.org is poised to expand its already vast reach and ensure that no one is left behind. Notably, of the 100M+ Snapchatters that Snapchat reaches in the U.S., over 80% are aged 18 or older.

This partnership will also bolster Vote.org’s efforts to reach the more than eight million young people who, by Election Day, will have reached voting age since the 2022 midterm elections. So far in the 2024 cycle, more than 200,000 18-year-olds have registered through Vote.org, a higher figure than any previous election and almost double the number of new 18-year-olds registered by this point in 2020.
