I own a small website, [[login to view URL]][1], which basically just advertises our company. The site has not changed in several years and needs a facelift. I need someone to redo the graphics and give it a fresh, "crisp" new look. We are welcome to new ideas on the graphics. I enclose one example of a new concept design I had developed, but I don't really like it that much.
We are the exclusive distributor of National Instruments ([[login to view URL]][2]) in the Philippines, so there will be links and adverts related to them, scattered throughout the site. By the way, we love that site for its functionality, although we need a different "look". We can send you copies of additional material as inspiration for the graphics.
You also need to develop 10-15 new pages, based mostly on text and photos that we will provide you. These pages will showcase our products, sample projects and our people. You are expected to add stock photos and new graphics to "spice" up the material. We will take care of the text, but you are expected to have good enough language skills that you can spot typos and in some cases perhaps even suggest better text.
## Deliverables
We'd like to review and approve at least three (3) concepts on the graphical look of the site, before you proceed with one that we agree on.
The home page must have a "News" section (scrolling?) which we can easily update, perhaps by simply uploading an ASCII file. The home page must also have banner areas that we can easily update.
The site should load fast, so no Flash, but animated GIFs are most welcome. Small touches like the display of the current date and time are also welcome. We'd like the site designed such as to maximize hits on search engines.
The site must also have a couple of functions that we currently have ASP scripts for: a login feature where people can download datasheets from a "Download" page, and a form where people can request more information, a quote or a login password. Security requirements are low.
You must deliver:
1) Complete and fully-functional working website, with complete graphics and text as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) The website must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment (we can provide ftp access for a limited time, for final upload and test).
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
4) Complete instructions on how to upload new text to the News section, how to update the banner text on the homepage, how to change the email address to which scripts send email, and how to add files to the Download section.
## Platform
We are reasonable, but I guess it must load fine in at least the latest two versions of IE, Netscape and Mozilla, under both Windows (NT, 2000 and XP, at least) and Linux. If it cannot load, there should be a nice message saying so.
