Conceptual Designer for Commercial Shopping Plaza Remodel – A Local Hub for the Windward Coast of Oahu
We’re looking for a talented and creative conceptual designer to help reimagine our property as a vibrant local hub for the Windward Coast of Oahu, Kaneohe, Hawaii. Inspired by places like SALT at Kaka‘ako, our goal is to create a community-oriented commercial space that fosters local connections, celebrates Hawaiian culture, and attracts businesses and visitors alike.
The remodeled the property should:
Promote local community engagement and serve as a gathering place.
Feature public spaces, local art installations (e.g., murals by local artists), and areas that encourage interaction and events.
Be a space that tenants are excited to be part of, aligning with a vision of local support and sustainable growth.
Blend modern aesthetics with authentic Hawaiian culture and the unique Windward Coast vibe.
Scope of Work:
Create conceptual designs (not architectural/technical drawings) for the remodel of Coral Kingdom.
Collaborate with us to ensure the vision evolves through continuous feedback and iterations.
Incorporate existing photos and floor plans, which we will provide.
Suggest innovative design elements to attract tenants and engage the community.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience in conceptual design for commercial spaces, community hubs, or similar projects.
Familiarity with Hawaiian culture, local artistry, and/or community-driven projects is highly preferred.
Open to collaboration and feedback-driven revisions.
Strong visual storytelling ability to present ideas through sketches, renderings, or other mediums.
Deliverables:
Initial conceptual designs based on provided materials and feedback.
Iterative updates to the designs based on collaboration.
A visual presentation that showcases the final concept.
This project could lead to ongoing work as we refine and execute our vision for our property.
