Executive Summary

This project focuses on the continued development of the PCB v1.4 for a motorcycle security device, which is designed to provide remote locking capabilities, real-time geolocation, and battery monitoring. The current version of the PCB includes an SIMCOM A7672SA module, the device is connected to a PWA (Progressive Web App) platform, enabling cellular communication and GPS tracking. However, some key functionalities such as battery switching, IMU, Hall effect sensor, and fuel gauge testing have not yet been validated.

We are seeking a hardware development team to complete these tests and make the necessary design modifications. Due to the advantage of faster procurement, shipping, and manufacturing capabilities in China, we aim to work with a team that can leverage their strong industry relationships to expedite the process. The team will be provided with three PCB v1.4 boards to conduct their tests and implement the required modifications.

Project Objectives

General Functionality Testing of PCB v1.4, including:

Battery switching between internal and external power sources.

IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) functionality for movement detection.

Hall effect sensor testing to verify proper rotational movement detection.

Fuel gauge testing to monitor the battery level effectively.

SIMCOM A7672SA testing to validate connectivity and GPS tracking through the PWA platform.

Look up overall functionalities such as lock/unlock, and so on (The PCB will be shared after the NDA sign of both parts).

Embedded systems:

Test overall functionalities

Enhance the actual code with the PCB re-design implementation

Realize many experimental tests to ensure the device is using the correct behavior.

PCB Design:

The team will be tasked with dividing the PCB into two parts to reduce the overall size of the device while maintaining functionality.

Ensure that the cost-effectiveness of the design is optimized for future mass production without compromising performance.

Ensure the overall functionalities of the devices (in electronics and also embedded fields).

Power Consumption Measurement:

Perform detailed measurements of the PCB's power consumption to determine the optimal battery size and capacity for the final product.

Mass Production Planning:

Prepare the design for seamless transition into mass production, including recommendations for cost-efficient components and suppliers.

Ensure that the design is scalable and can be produced for a large-scale manufacturing process.

Key components to be tested:

We expect the chosen team to deliver a detailed report of their findings, along with solutions for any issues identified during testing.
