Hello,

The house facade that faces the street overlooks a lake across the street. So please keep this in mind that side should be very open to maximize the views of the lake...and mountains in fact.

Address: 1613 W. Lake Sammamish Pkwy SE, Bellevue WA, USA

NOTE: The garage must match the full width of the front of the house.
NOTE: The home entry must be on the right side.
NOTE: The 5ft diameter tree near the front of the house and shown in the 3D model must remain and be included as part of the concept.
NOTE: This home is a huge investment property for me and I will sell it. It will cost someone probably 1.5 or 2 million US to buy. That type of person wants to be perceived as powerful. So I would add that the house should feel 'powerful'.

Uploaded a new file called 'Ideas' -- these are creative homes/ideas I like.

I have noticed that the entries thus far are very conservative and not innovative.
I was not clear enough that this contest is going to be judged primarily upon creativity (but still buildable and with the constraints of the general shape provided)!
I am seeking creative ideas.
I am seeking something nobody has ever seen.
I am seeking a concept that will cause people to stop and look and take a picture!
Yet...is still within the general shape provided.

Please let your creative ideas flow!
The winner will be the design that is most amazing, innovative, and creative...yet buildable.

Thus far, the most creative is the entry by Pedro Alonso. Pedro has creative taken the box shape and broken it in various creative ways.

For example, the edges don't have to be square...they could be round or triangular or other. The faces don't have to be flat.
You can create multiple entries with multiple ideas. Or one entry with 5 or more ideas.

The newest file called 'surface reduced' is a detailed 3D model showing the location of all the trees (just the 1st 3ft from ground level).

I've added several additional file formats of the property, including an STL file. There are dimensioned drawings now so you can take the various 3D Solidworks files and send them for conversion to your own source. I will add more dimensions and answer questions about the property, but am done with all the conversions...everyone is wanting a different format and I am unable to do them all...unless you provide specific detailed step by step instructions.

Can someone tell me how to convert a 3d solidworks part into a 3d autocad file?

The house is 40' tall when looking at it from the front, and there are 4 floors, 10' per floor. It should have a 2 car garage at the bottom with 3 floors above. The stairs on the side extend 8' above the roof level. The roof level should be a deck for entertainment.

This is a home design competition.

The competition is to use the drawings and model provided to create a rendering of a home you create.

The house views should be generated upon the existing model or drawings and modified as you see fit.

The house can't be bigger than shown, nor can it be taller.

The tower on the side is a staircase, and in the back corner there is another staircase.

The roof should be used as an entertainment deck.

Dear contestants,

Thank you all so much for your entries.

I chose the winner based upon several factors.
1) Design quality and ability to build cost effectively.
2) Creativity
3) Designer's responsiveness
4) Designer's hourly rate
5) Designer's demonstrated desire to do extra effort.

The winner submitted a beautiful design in the first few days.
The winner was/is very eager to make revisions per my requests (and did so many times -- at least 10).
The winner immediately was asking for more and more work and began doing detailed design work for me -- during which time there were 100s of changes.
The winner communicated with patience on 100s of back and forth clarifications.

In summary, the winner worked very, very hard to win this prize and very much deserved to win.

On a personal note, I was overwhelmed by how many entries I received.
I found that many of the later entries were derivative of the early entries -- and therefore, some of the beautiful work failed to impress.

  Because I was SO occupied with the winner who was doing rapid work on things I needed done, I could not engage with all of you.

  I'm seeking bold concepts that are super creative and like something nobody has ever seen before.

Dear CH, what are the requirements? The 3D file doesnt open in sketchup. The cad file shows only 2D conversion of a 3D model. How do I know the contours?
